▶ K-Indie Escape Room Returns from Mobile to PC with 13 Stories
Domestic indie game studio Sonak will officially release the PC version of the story-collecting escape room game ‘Forgotten Library’ through Stove Indie on February 25th.
“The Forgotten Library” is a game where players explore episodes within a mysterious library and gather clues to restore lost stories. With the world of stories shattered, players assume the roles of different protagonists, solving puzzles and quizzes to piece together the scattered pieces of the story and restore the world.
In addition to the nine episodes featured in the mobile version, this PC version includes four new stories exclusive to PC. This means a total of 13 stories are contained within a single volume. From the story of the protagonist running a herbal medicine workshop to the queen of magic school and the secrets surrounding a theater troupe, each episode, each with its own unique worldview and personality, is contained within a single volume.
“Escape Room Story Collection”… 9-person development team Sonak
Sonak is an indie development team comprised of nine experts in planning, art, and development. Their strengths lie in emotional illustrations and immersive narratives, and they focus on maximizing the “fun of collecting stories” beyond the simple escape room mechanic.
Sonak is also a team that has consistently engaged with users in offline settings. They participated in G-STAR for two consecutive years in 2023 and 2024 and were selected for the 2024 Indie Craft. They also participated in the 2025 Comic World and Cheonan K-Culture Festival, where they directly observed gamer reactions on-site.
Perfection refined through ‘Smart Demo Life’
Before the official launch, Sonak actively reflected user opinions by participating in Stove Indie’s indie game feedback program, ‘Smart Demo Life’.
Team Sonak’s PD, Kukah, stated, “Through Slade, we were able to discover aspects that we hadn’t considered with our internal QA alone.” The official version will feature a comprehensive overhaul of the quizzes, including their plausibility, clue structure, difficulty adjustment, and hint system.
While the demo version offered only a few chapters of each story, some felt it lacked continuity, the full version features three or five complete chapters per episode. This PC release is the result of a thorough effort to address user feedback and further refine the game.
With the launch of Stove Indie as a springboard, we aim for the global market.
With the launch of Stove Indie, Sonak plans to accelerate its global expansion. Localization into English and Chinese is underway, with a target Steam release in the second half of 2026. A trial version for Steam users is also planned for the first half of the year.
Until launch, we plan to expand our reach with global users by publishing development logs and behind-the-scenes stories of each protagonist through the Steam community.
“The Forgotten Library” isn’t simply an escape room game; it’s more like a journey to recover lost stories, piece by piece. Solving puzzles and connecting clues leads to restoring the world, and the player naturally becomes the protagonist of each episode.
Building on the experience gained on mobile, this newly expanded version on the PC platform will be a huge hit, and everyone is eager to see what kind of response it will generate. Whether the unique concept of collecting stories will leave a lasting impression on gamers, and whether the next chapter of “The Forgotten Library” will be a memorable one, is highly anticipated.
