Netmarble Cultural Foundation held the online launching ceremony for the 7th game academy

    By Editorial Team2022년 05월 24일Updated:2023년 11월 19일3 Mins Read

    – Online real-time on the 21st with 84 students who were finally selected
    – Implemented game development practical training for 8 months, and provided opportunities for game competitions and exhibitions

The Netmarble Cultural Foundation (CEO Bang Jun-hyeok) announced that the 7th Game Academy inauguration ceremony was held online on the 21st (Sat).

‘Game Academy’, which started in 2016, is a social contribution activity representing the Netmarble Cultural Foundation that provides and supports the actual game development process for teenagers who dream of future game talent.

In this launching ceremony, 84 students selected for the 7th game of the Game Academy, Na-young Lee, secretary general of the Netmarble Cultural Foundation, and Professor Hye-ran Kim of the Korea Institute of Media and Film, an advisory member, and instructors participated to celebrate and encourage the event.

In the opening remarks, Lee Na-young, secretary general of the Netmarble Cultural Foundation, said, “I sincerely welcome all the students who joined the 7th game academy, and I encourage them to complete well during the training period and create a foothold for healthy growth as future game talents.” .

Following the opening remarks, there was time to introduce advisors and all instructors, share feedback from game academy graduates, and support messages for juniors.

Student Kang-min Lee, who completed the 2nd term of the Game Academy, said, “It was the best thing to develop games with other people while attending the Game Academy. While working together, I felt a lot of responsibility and my motivation to develop became stronger, which helped me a lot in improving my skills.”

He added, “Since game production involves a lot of collaboration, communication is the most important thing, and we need to make an effort to do this. Also, since game development takes a lot more time than we think, we need to pay attention to the distribution of work so that it can be completed within the given period.”

In the final placard performance sequence, all participating students held up placards stating their own resolutions and cheered each other on, strengthening their will to participate.

The 7th game academy students will have the opportunity to make their own games while receiving practical education and mentoring from professional instructors throughout the game production for the next 8 months. In addition, game competitions and exhibitions are held together so that participating students can demonstrate their abilities, and excellent works are awarded and disclosed.
