Gwangmyeong City Game Creation Center is recruiting students for its “Basic Game Development and AI Utilization” course.

        By Editorial Team2026년 02월 09일3 Mins Read

The Gwangmyeong City Haan Library Game Creation Center is recruiting students for its first-half training program, which will provide hands-on training in core digital transformation technologies such as coding and game production using generative AI.

Gwangmyeong City Game Creation Center announced on the 9th that it will be recruiting students for the ‘Basic Game Development and Artificial Intelligence (AI) Utilization’ course starting at 10:00 AM on the 11th.

From elementary school students to adults… Game creation using generative AI.

This training course is for elementary school students and adults and will run for approximately four months from March 7 to June 28.

The courses being offered are a total of 5 subjects: ▲Generative AI Game Creation for Beginners ▲Tomorrow’s Indie Game Developer: Unity ▲Step-by-step ‘Entry’ of Coding Basics ▲Immersive Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) Coding Using a Dedicated Platform (Delightex) ▲Learning Metaverse Coding through Games: Roblox.

In particular, this course is designed to go beyond simple technical acquisition and allow you to directly experience the latest information technology (IT) trends, such as designing coding structures by commanding AI.

The nation’s first game makerspace… 25,000 annual users

The Gwangmyeong Game Creation Center, the nation’s first game makerspace that opened in 2020, offers specialized game content creation experiences and educational facilities. It is located on the third floor of the Haan Library at 46 Cheolmangsan-ro, Gwangmyeong-si, Gyeonggi-do.

Here, you can experience over 100 types of content, including movies and games, with the latest technology VR glasses, a popular VR game experience device using a professional VR program, an AR interactive content experience device, and a screen sports device.

The Haan Library’s Gwangmyeong Game Creation Center annually offers free educational courses on VR and AR game experiences, AI, the metaverse, and game coding to 25,000 people. Over the past five years, the center has welcomed over 50,000 visitors, 25% of whom come from outside the city, demonstrating its popularity beyond Gwangmyeong City and extending nationwide.

Collaborating with the Gyeonggi Content Agency to develop esports talent

Since signing a business agreement with the Gyeonggi Content Agency in 2022, the Gwangmyeong Game Creation Center has been promoting various projects to promote game culture and foster future talent.

In particular, we are collaborating with the Gwangmyeong Office of Education to establish and operate a “Game Programming” course within the high school credit system. Second-year high school students in the district can learn how to develop their own games at the Game Creation Lab every Wednesday during regular class hours.

In addition, we regularly hold youth e-sports competitions and special lectures on game and e-sports career paths in cooperation with the Gyeonggi Game Culture Center, striving to create a healthy gaming culture and fostering professional talent in the gaming field.

Kim Gwang-yong, director of Haan Library in Gwangmyeong City, said, “This course will not only cultivate basic literacy in the digital age, but will also serve as an opportunity to grow into creative talent suited to the era of artificial intelligence and the Fourth Industrial Revolution.” He added, “I hope many citizens interested in digital education will participate.”

Citizens wishing to participate can apply on a first-come, first-served basis through the Gwangmyeong Library website (gmlib.gm.go.kr) starting at 10:00 AM on the 11th. For further information, please contact the Gwangmyeong Haan Library at 02-2680-6996.
