The indie sensation Cult of the Lamb has officially reached a monumental milestone, surpassing 4.5 million copies sold worldwide. To celebrate this legacy, global publisher Devolver Digital and developer Massive Monster released the highly anticipated expansion, “Woolhaven,” on January 23, 2026 (KST).
Positioned as the game’s largest and most ambitious update to date, Woolhaven takes players beyond the familiar Lands of the Old Faith and into a frozen, desolate mountain range haunted by the past.
A Tale of Forgotten Gods and Fallen Lambs
The expansion introduces a brand-new narrative centered around Yngya, the long-silenced God of Winter. Players are summoned to the ancestral home of lambkind—a ruined mountain village—to reclaim lost souls and restore Yngya’s depleted power.
However, the path to redemption comes with a dark price. As you cleanse the mountain and restore the lambs to their spiritual home, the “Rot” defiles the land further, threatening the balance of the entire world. Players must decide whether their pursuit of the past will lead to salvation or a new kind of ruin.
Survival of the Fittest: The Wintry Climate System
Woolhaven significantly deepens the cult management gameplay by introducing a dynamic climate system. The cozy clearing of your cult is now subject to brutal blizzards and sub-zero temperatures.
- Environmental Hazards: Followers can now suffer from frostbite and famine caused by frozen crops.
- New Infrastructure: To survive, players must construct specialized buildings like heaters, warm baths, and shelters to keep their flock alive through the biting storms.
- New Resources: Gathering materials like Rotburn and Charged Shards becomes essential for fueling the fires that ward off the encroaching frost.
Ranching and Livestock Management
One of the most praised additions in the expansion is the Ranching system. For the first time, players can fence off fields and breed rare, majestic animals such as Llamaish, Yakish, and Cowish creatures.
These animals provide more than just company; they are vital for survival. Players can shear them for wool to craft warm clothing, milk them for sustenance, or, in desperate times of famine, butcher them for precious meat. Additionally, the Lamb can now tame and ride these creatures, adding a new layer of mobility and interaction to the base-building loop.
Exploration: Ewefall and the Rot Caverns
The expansion features two massive new dungeons that offer a significantly harder challenge than the base game:
- Ewefall: A vertical, wind-swept mountain climb filled with avian and frost-themed enemies.
- The Rot: A grotesque, fleshy underbelly of the mountain where players face creatures corrupted by a mysterious, spreading decay.
Along with these biomes, players can unlock the Flail, a high-impact new weapon type, alongside dozens of new tarot cards, relics, and curses designed to handle the increased difficulty.
Pricing and Availability
Cult of the Lamb: Woolhaven is now available as a paid expansion for 18,500 KRW ($16.99 USD) across PC (Steam), PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.
To welcome new acolytes, Devolver Digital is offering a 60% discount on the base game for a limited time following the launch. Whether you are returning to lead your flock or starting your cult for the first time, the frozen peaks of Woolhaven are waiting.
