- Taipei Game Show ‘Indie Game Awards 2026’ Best Mobile Game Winner
- New Trailer Unveiled at ID@Xbox x IGN Showcase, Third Chapter Premieres
- Development funding provided by Casey Yano and others, developers of Outersloth and ‘Slay the Spire’
CONCODE, a two-person domestic indie game developer, has released a new trailer for its new mystery action adventure game ‘Graytail’ and confirmed the release date for the end of 2027.
Concord captured the attention of global gamers by unveiling a new video of ‘Greytale’ at the ‘ID@Xbox x IGN Showcase’ held on the 20th (local time). This trailer emphasized the game’s distinctive 2.5D graphic style and featured the first in-game footage of ‘Chapter 3,’ which is currently under active development.
Along with this, the developer announced on the same day that it had secured development funds from ‘Outersloth,’ an indie game fund operated by ‘Innersloth,’ the developer of ‘Among Us.’ Outersloth is a mutual growth fund that guarantees the developer 100% of intellectual property rights (IP) and creative direction.
New 2.5D Trailer, First Reveal of Chapter 3
This trailer showcased scenes from the third chapter currently under development, featuring 2.5D visuals. ‘Graytale’, which Concord has been developing for about four years, is a mystery action adventure inspired by the Zelda series.
The story begins with tracking the whereabouts of a famous female pilot who went missing in the Pacific. A detective suffering from severe headaches investigates the case together with the pilot’s daughter.
The player uses a cane as their primary weapon and also utilizes secondary weapons such as umbrellas and frisbees. They explore five regions on a bike and solve puzzles by combining weapons with surrounding objects.
Outersloth Funding, ‘Slay the Spire’ Casey Yano Also Participates
Outer Sloth is a fund that provides financial support to developers to complete their games while preserving their intellectual property rights and creative direction.
In addition to Outer Sloth, this investment included Casey Yano of Mega Crit Games, the developer of ‘Slay the Spire’, and an undisclosed investment partner. As this is funding rather than a publishing contract, Concord will release ‘Graytale’ directly.
Shin Myung-jin, co-founder of Concord, stated that he was surprised by Outersloth’s quick decision to invest after their meeting. He said, “They were the partner I most wanted to work with from the beginning,” adding that it is very meaningful to be able to continue development through funding while also gaining experience in launching a game directly.
50,000 on Wishlist, Trial Version ‘Very Positive (98%)’
Concord’s ‘Graytale’ won the ‘Best Mobile Game’ award at the ‘Indie Game Awards 2026’ hosted by the Taipei Game Show. In a competition featuring 515 entries from 51 countries and regions, the organizers highly praised ‘Graytale’s’ smooth narrative progression and elegant visual style.
The game currently has 50,000 wishlist entries on Steam, and the demo received a ‘Very Positive’ rating (98%) from Steam users. Based on this funding, Concord plans to improve the combat system and refine the story and each region to make them more dense.
The current demo will end in November 2026. The developer plans to release a demo featuring a new combat system at a later date. Co-founder Shin explained that the launch was set for the end of 2027 to further refine the combat and improve the game’s quality. Versions for other platforms are planned to be released sequentially thereafter.
Korean two-person development team that created the mobile game ‘Go Home Cat’
Concord is a two-person Korean indie game development studio founded in 2021. Co-founder Shin Myung-jin is in charge of programming and narrative, while co-founder Kim Sun-hyang is responsible for art and animation.
Concord’s first work, the mobile story game ‘The Way Home’, recorded 3.5 million cumulative downloads and a rating of 4.7. The two developers personally oversee the entire game production process, from planning and development to art and release.
‘Graytale’ is scheduled to be released on PC and Xbox platforms in late 2027. The current demo will end in November, and the release of a demo featuring new combat has been announced. The game can be added to your wishlist on the Steam page and the Xbox Store .
