    Chungnam Content Agency Announces Results of First Phase of Indie Game Park Incubation Project

    The Chungnam Content Agency (Director: Kim Gok-mi) has announced the successful completion of the first cohort of its Indie Game Park Incubating Program, revealing that participating teams have achieved meaningful results through domestic and international showcases, awards, and global testing.

    A total of 14 teams—comprised of early-stage startups and prospective founders—joined the inaugural program. Their projects spanned a wide range of platforms, including PC, mobile, console, and VR, and covered diverse genres such as roguelike, RPG, action, strategy, puzzle, simulation, and multiplayer. As most teams were composed of young developers preparing for their first commercial launch, the program is being praised for fostering new talent and building a foundation for indie commercialization in the region.


    Showcases, Competitions, and Global Tests Demonstrate Market Potential

    Throughout the program, teams actively participated in major industry events such as PlayX4, Busan Indie Connect Festival, G-STAR, and Gamescom Asia × Thailand Game Show, presenting demos and gathering live feedback. These opportunities enabled developers to assess product readiness, refine gameplay, and further analyze their target audiences through direct user engagement and publisher meetings.

    Several titles underwent global testing to gather performance data from international audiences.

    • Wonderdeck and Elemental Soul conducted overseas user tests to assess controls and difficulty balance.
    • Space Revolver (M-K Studio) conducted an Open Player Test (OPT) with over 150 global users, gathering insights on user preferences and play flow.

    These data-driven evaluations are expected to guide pre-launch improvements and service strategy development.


    Comprehensive Support: Development Spaces, Funding, Mentoring, and Overseas Training

    The Indie Game Park program provided hands-on assistance through:

    • dedicated development studios at the Chungnam Global Game Center annex,
    • monthly development maintenance support,
    • expert mentoring,
    • art, sound, QA, and localization services from partnered vendors,
    • entrepreneurship and marketing education.

    Participants also took part in a training program during the Tokyo Game Show, engaging in local market research, publisher consultations, and user experience studies to establish foundations for global expansion.


    Awards Highlight Competitive Strength of the Cohort

    Final evaluations were conducted in October, with scoring based on completeness, gameplay quality, genre interpretation, market potential, and effective use of showcase feedback.

    Award winners included:

    • Grand Prize: Space Revolver — M-K Studio
    • Excellence Award: SEMO — Hard Coders, and The T — Alpha Three
    • Merit Award: Blossom Games, Mook, and Project Neogul

    These awards highlight the competitive originality and commercial potential demonstrated by the participating developers.


    Continued Support Planned for 2026

    Building on this year’s achievements, the Chungnam Content Agency announced plans to continue the Indie Game Park Incubating Program in 2026. The expanded initiative will enhance support through:

    • global game show participation,
    • platform testing programs,
    • strengthened connections with overseas publishers,
    • entrepreneurship and investment support.

    Kim Jegon, Director of the Chungnam Content Agency, stated:

    “Through this incubating program, participating teams greatly improved project completeness and strategic planning with the help of expert mentoring and global market exposure. We will continue to build a robust support system so that indie developers can successfully establish and grow their studios in the Chungnam region.”
