Up to 110 million won in support for game developers in North Chungcheong Province… Applications accepted until April 2nd.
The Chungbuk Global Game Center (cbgame.org), supported by Cheongju City and operated by the Cheongju City Cultural Industry Promotion Foundation, announced on March 10 a call for companies to participate in the ‘2026 Game Content Production Support Project.’
Applications will be accepted until April 2nd , and can be submitted online through the subsidy integrated portal e-Nara Help .
Focus on strengthening the Chungbuk gaming ecosystem
The Chungbuk Global Game Center aims to establish and revitalize the local gaming industry through various programs, including fostering game companies and training professional talent. This production support project also aims to enhance the global competitiveness of excellent local games, directly supporting the development of game content across various platforms, including mobile, PC, and VR.
Up to 110 million won in production costs per company
Companies selected through this project will receive game development grants ranging from a minimum of 60 million won to a maximum of 110 million won . In addition to the grant, they will also receive benefits such as : occupancy at the Chungbuk Global Game Center , access to testbed equipment and shared development facilities , and equipment rental and development infrastructure support. This initiative aims to go beyond simple production cost support to simultaneously provide development environment improvements and technical support.
Eligible for support are small and medium-sized game developers with operations in North Chungcheong Province. However, companies outside the region are eligible to apply if they : ▲ complete business registration transfer to the North Chungcheong region after selection ; and ▲ commit to relocating within three months of signing the agreement.
In the case of a branch office, it must have been established within the province for at least 3 months as of the date of announcement and must maintain at least 3 full-time employees.
Project Terms and Job Creation Obligations
There are conditions for eligible projects. Metaverse platforms and offline board games are excluded from support, and projects must have a progress rate of at least 30%. Furthermore, games scheduled for commercialization within three months of the agreement signing date are also ineligible.
There are also job creation conditions. At least one new hire must be made within the agreement period, and if the subsidy exceeds 100 million won, at least two new hires must be secured. The company must cover 10% of the total project cost.
Final selection through document and presentation evaluation , and support for indie startup production is also available.
The final participating companies will be selected in April through a document review and presentation evaluation. The amount of funding will be allocated based on the evaluation results. Once selected, they will sign an agreement with Game Center and receive full-scale development support. Game Center will not only execute the grant funds but also provide ongoing monitoring throughout the project.
Along with this announcement, the “2026 Indie Startup Production Support Program” is also accepting applications on the same schedule. While the Game Content Production Support Program primarily targets corporations above a certain size, the Indie Startup Production Support Program operates as a separate track targeting early-stage startup teams and small-scale developers. However, overlapping applications between the two programs are not permitted.
