Indie developer Knive Studio has announced that a playable demo for its upcoming turn-based SRPG, “Stardust: Wish of Witch,” will be released on January 20, 2026, via Steam and Stove Indie.
Known for its striking cinematic pixel art and tactical depth, the game is drawing attention from fans of the classic SRPG genre who are looking for a modern twist.
Tactical Depth Meets Modern Visuals
The upcoming demo offers approximately 1 to 1.5 hours of gameplay, providing a comprehensive look at the game’s core systems and atmospheric storytelling.
- Hybrid Combat System: While built on a traditional SRPG grid, the game integrates a card-based counter and combo system, adding a layer of strategic unpredictability to every turn.
- Cinematic Presentation: The demo showcases story-driven cutscenes and high-quality 2D animated ultimate moves, bridging the gap between retro pixel aesthetics and modern animation standards.
- Narrative Focus: Players will be introduced to the early chapters of the story and the unique combat styles of the main cast of characters.

Global Outreach with No Embargo
In a move to encourage community engagement, Knive Studio confirmed that there is no embargo on streaming or reviews for the demo. Content creators are free to share their experiences as soon as the demo goes live on January 20.
The demo will be available for free on both Steam and the Korean indie platform Stove Indie.
