    Stove Indie Signs Publishing Contract for ‘Archetype Blue’

    Smilegate announced on Monday, the 21st, that it had signed a global publishing contract for the deck-building rogue-lite game Archetype Blue (codename Bom, CEO: Shin Won-Cheol). The game has garnered attention at various indie game award ceremonies through the indie game platform Stove Indie.

    ‘Archetype Blue’ is a new game currently under development by Codename Bom, a PC and console game development studio. Its strengths include elegant pixel graphics, strategic gameplay, and philosophical scenarios. The beginning is relatively easy, but the difficulty increases as the game progresses, stimulating the user’s desire for challenge. In the game, the user embarks on an adventure with Mary, a girl who lost her family, and the brave knight Lancelot.

    ‘Archetype Blue’, which first met Stove Indie at the Busan Indie Connect Festival (BIC) last year, received favorable reviews from indie game fans at home and abroad at various game exhibitions such as G-Star, Play Expo, Burning Beaver, Tokyo Game Show, and Bit Summit. It won awards such as the G-Star Indie Awards ‘Player Voice’, the Busan Indie Connect Festival’s One Pick Indie’, the Gyeonggi Content Promotion Agency’s ‘NPR Nexed Grand Prize’, the Korea Mobile Game Association’s ‘Indie Game of the Year’, and IndieCraft’s ‘Seongnam Promotion Agency Director’s Award’, emerging as a rising star in the indie game industry.

    Through this contract, the two companies promised to work closely together to ensure the successful global service of Archetype Blue. Smilegate plans to apply the know-how it has gained from successfully creating various popular global IPs to Archetype Blue. The game is aiming for early access in 2025 and an official launch in 2026.

    Smilegate Stove Business Head Baek Young-hoon said, “‘Archetype Blue’ is a highly anticipated indie game that showcases the solid development capabilities of its veteran development team,” and “We signed this contract to support the success of excellent indie games. Based on Smilegate’s publishing know-how accumulated over the years, we will do our best to convey the charm of Archetype Blue to global indie game fans.”

    Codename Bom CEO Shin Won-chul said, “We are delighted to have signed a publishing contract with Stove Indie, which is dedicated to supporting indie game creation teams and expanding the ecosystem.” He added, “As this is a title that we have put a lot of effort into, we will accelerate the remaining game development to provide the best gaming experience to users through Smilegate’s global service know-how.”
