The ‘GXG 2024’ event, which took place for two days on September 6th and 7th at the Pangyo Station Plaza in Seongnam City, ended successfully with the interest and participation of many citizens.
GXG 2024 is a game culture festival hosted by Seongnam City and organized by Seongnam Industrial Promotion Agency and Game Culture Foundation. It offers various programs, such as a game music competition, game culture-related exhibitions and experiences, markets, and events, for citizens and game users to see and enjoy.
In particular, in the main program of this year’s festival, ‘GXG 2024 Game Music Competition: The 1st GXG SOUND TRACK,’ ten teams competed in the finals with a prize pool of 23 million won. The final winner, announced after all the teams’ performances, was the ‘Life’ team, which participated in a game based on Riot Games’ League of Legends and took home the 10 million won prize.
The Life team won the grand prize by performing a passionate and unique version of their original rock song, ‘Shurima.’ The song received high scores from the judges’ evaluations and the on-site audience vote.
The final winning teams of the contest are ▲Grand Prize: Leaf ▲Gold Prize: Run into Galaxy ▲Silver Prize: Kipro & Sujain, e-dust ▲Bronze Prize: Mokhwa, Demacia ▲Main Prize (in alphabetical order): dizzy, DPS, Baek-an, Unknown Tree, a total of 10 teams.
In addition, GXG 2024 presented various stage programs such as the Illustrator Festival Stage, WCG Legend Super Match, and Gala Concert, and it ended the festival with a gala concert by the participating teams of the game music competition. In particular, this year’s festival was held on an expanded scale compared to last year in terms of space and the number of participating organizations and companies, providing even more enjoyment.
The GXG Operations Office announced that around 50 organizations and companies (excluding those participating in collaboration programs such as Indie Craft, WCG, and Illustrator Fes) participated in the event held over two days, September 6th and 7th and that the number of people visiting the Pangyo Station Plaza area during the festival period is expected to reach around 30,000.
