D&D romance game ‘Dating & Dragons: A Love Quest’

‘Dating & Dragons: A Love Quest’, an indie game with a unique concept of finding love in the Dungeons & Dragons world, is receiving an explosive response on the global crowdfunding platform Kickstarter.
Launched on February 3rd by Twisted Twenty Studio, a three-person Spanish development team, the campaign reached its initial goal in just three hours and has now raised more than double that, demonstrating the fervent interest of gamers. With 26 days remaining before the campaign ends on March 5th, additional stretch goals are still being met.

“Dating & Dragons: A Love Quest” is a D&D-inspired dating simulation game that combines visual novel storytelling with RPG mechanics. It capitalizes on the core element that captivated gamers worldwide with “Baldur’s Gate 3″—romance with fellow characters—and exquisitely blends authentic fantasy sensibilities with a love story.
Gamers can choose from four playable characters and romance six charming companions. Characters with unique personalities await players, including a half-elf bard, a reserved dwarf, and a friendly librarian. Thanks to the enthusiastic support of our backers, the addition of a seventh romance character is also being considered as a stretch goal.

The character customization system is also noteworthy. Instead of the traditional D&D ability scores, it uses six stats: Muscles, Shady, Vigor, Brains, Spirit, and Charm. The dice rolling animations are reminiscent of actual tabletop games, and items are presented in card form, adding to the fun of collecting.
A player’s choices directly impact not only the success or failure of a quest, but also the favorability ratings of their companions. Anyone who’s seen the message “Astarion opposes” in Baldur’s Gate 3 will readily agree. The game contains mild, non-explicit sexual content. As a dating simulation, it features flirting, suggestive language, and romantic situations, but no overtly explicit sexual activity or explicit depictions.
