    Korea Creative Content Agency to Hold ‘2025 Indie Game Networking Day’

    • On the 26th, a networking day event was held in conjunction with a joint seminar by leading companies to strengthen indie game development capabilities.
    • Three leading companies, including Neowiz, Smilegate Megaport, and Pearl Abyss, participate, sharing field knowledge with 55 indie game developers
    • The first achievement since the business agreement is the concretization of the possibility of realizing public-private cooperation

    The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Minister Yoo In-chon) and the Korea Creative Content Agency (Acting President Yoo Hyun-seok, hereinafter referred to as KOCCA) successfully held the ‘2025 Indie Game Networking Day’ in conjunction with the joint seminar of leading companies at Basement One in Gangnam, Seoul on June 26. This event It was planned as part of the ‘2025 Indie Game Development Support Project’ promoted by KOCCA for the purpose of sharing practical information and mutual exchange between indie game developers and leading companies.

    ◆ The first step toward full implementation of public-private cooperation, sharing strategies for K-indie games to advance overseas

    This event is the first implementation case of the ‘Business Agreement for Establishing an Indie Game Support System’ signed with three leading companies, Neowiz, Smilegate Megaport, and Pearl Abyss, in December of last year. The joint seminar promoted practical exchanges by sharing ▲PC/Console Indie Game Global Business Strategy ▲Global Marketing Strategy through Indie Game Exhibition Participation ▲Indie Game Global Market Entry Strategy, etc.

    ◆ On-site communication for mutual growth, expansion of solidarity and exchange among developers

    About 100 people, including 55 developers selected for the ‘2025 Indie Game Development Support Project’ and related industry officials, attended the event. Through the seminar, participants increased their understanding of indie game development and global distribution strategies and implementation methods after launch, and freely communicated with other developers with whom they had little interaction, sharing their perception of the industry as a whole.

    In addition, through on-site communication with leading companies, it became an opportunity to understand each company’s development direction and the challenges they face in the process of promoting their business, and to discuss practical response measures. One participant said, “It was very helpful to not only exchange information with other developers at similar stages, but also hear directly about senior developers’ global launch experiences.”

    ◆ Strengthening support and cooperation for sustainable development of K-games, networking planned for the second half of the year

    KOCCA Game Technology Division Director Nam-Geol Kim said, “This event was a meaningful opportunity for indie game developers and leading companies to come together and engage in practical exchanges,” and added, “We will continue to strengthen our creator-centered support system and enhance the global competitiveness of K-indie games through public-private cooperation.”

    KOCCA will participate in ‘Bitsummit 2025’ held in Kyoto, Japan in July to directly advance into the global market for K-indie games, operate a Korean pavilion, and continue networking programs in the second half of the year to expand opportunities for exchanges between indie game developers and collaboration with leading companies.
