‘Let’s Meet Our Ancestors’, released on the 20th, is an indie game developed by the ‘Manjo’ team, formed by three members of the CCL 1st team participating in the first group: Smilegate Stove Cho Hwi-yeon, Smilegate Entertainment Kim Hyun-jin, and Ji Sae-bom.
‘Let’s Meet Ancestors’ is a visual novel genre featuring ‘handsome Joseon scholars’, and has the advantage of being able to enjoy all contents after purchasing the game without additional payment. In particular, it has a solid composition, including elegant game art, immersive music, a smooth storyline, and mini-games that appear throughout the game.
The ‘Manzo’ team, three developers who were developing different games, formed a team during the CCL recruitment period and went through the Challengers League and the ‘Masters League’, which supports results beyond prototypes, to the official release. It was completed with the active support of the company to the passion and challenging spirit of the team members who ‘want to make a game’.
Smilegate’s in-house creativity and creation program, CCL, is a program that supports Smilegate employees to actively create games or app services based on their own ideas outside of company work. Launched in 2019, the company directly encourages the creative activities of in-house developers.
Smilegate provided the necessary equipment, place, and activity expenses so that CCL participants could participate in and develop projects outside of business hours. As a result, in the first phase of 2020, 21 teams participated and developed 18 games and app services after three months of activity.
