The Korea Mobile Game Association (Chairman Hwang Seong-ik) announced on the 11th that it had signed a business agreement for mutual cooperation with First Ventures (CEO Ja-hyung Koo), a global startup accelerator.
First Ventures operates a professional curriculum and mentoring program through overseas multi-country networks to pioneer overseas markets for startups. It is also an operator of ‘Wonderize’, a global investment linkage platform to revitalize the overall startup ecosystem.
Through this agreement, the two companies discussed the global advancement of small and medium-sized game developers in Korea, exchange of game industry between North America and Korea, and joint cooperation in a global investment pitching event with the Los Angeles Venture Association of the United States.
CEO Ja-hyung Koo said, “In Korea, one of the major game content countries, we plan to actively support many game developers through various related education, mentoring, and events so that they can smoothly advance into wider overseas markets. Through this process, I hope that it will contribute to the leap into a global game powerhouse.”
Chairman Hwang Seong-ik said, “The global expansion of small and medium-sized game developers in Korea has become a necessity, not an option. Through this cooperation with First Ventures, we hope that this will be a good opportunity for promising domestic game developers to advance into the global market and to introduce K-Games to other countries, including North America.”
