    K-Indie Sensation Shape of Dreams Joins the Million-Seller Club

    Shape of Dreams, the action roguelite developed by Lizard Smoothie and published by Neowiz, has officially surpassed 1 million units in global cumulative sales, cementing its status as a premier “million-seller” in the indie scene.

    Neowiz announced on January 5 that the game reached the 1-million milestone as of December 31, 2025. This feat was achieved in just three and a half months following its official launch on September 11, 2025.

    The game’s momentum was evident from the start, recording 500,000 copies sold within just two weeks of release and maintaining a steady upward trajectory throughout the end of the year.


    A Unique Blend of Genres Captures Global Interest

    Industry analysts attribute the success of Shape of Dreams to its innovative gameplay. By blending MOBA-style dynamic action with a roguelite framework, the game offers a fresh experience enhanced by 4-player real-time co-op.

    Set in the surreal theme of “Dreams,” the game features:

    • Dynamic Environments: Stages that change with every run.
    • Extensive Customization: Over 150 unique items allowing for countless character builds.
    • Critical Acclaim: The game holds impressive scores on global critique sites, with an 84 on Metacritic and an 86 on OpenCritic. It also maintains a “Very Positive” rating on Steam.

    Success Driven by Community Engagement

    Beyond its mechanics, Lizard Smoothie’s commitment to its players has been a decisive factor. Since the demo phase, the studio has actively incorporated feedback from the global community.

    Post-launch, the developers have been diligent with hotfixes and major updates. In December 2025, the game added official Steam Workshop support for modding, along with a “Hard Mode” and hidden bosses for veteran players.

Experts note that the successful collaboration between an independent developer (Lizard Smoothie) and a seasoned publisher (Neowiz) provides a positive blueprint for future K-indie projects aiming for the world stage.
