The Korea Mobile Game Association (Chairman Hwang Seong-ik) announced on the 21st that TikTok, a global short-form mobile video platform, has joined as a vice-president, an executive member of the Korea Mobile Game Association.
Through this executive membership, the Korea Mobile Game Association provides TikTok with voting rights at the general meeting and participation in the association’s sole official event sponsoring company, business support for Korean activities, and cooperative activities for various promotions. TikTok also plans to engage in various activities together with the Korea Mobile Game Association for the development of the Korean game industry.
Seol Yun-hwan, head of global business solutions at TikTok Korea, said, “TikTok, which has 1 billion users worldwide, is receiving a lot of attention from the game industry as a vertical video-based marketing platform. On TikTok, game-related content is actively consumed in a variety of ways, from memes using game scenes and characters to tutorial content explaining the game method. It will help you connect with the community,” he said.
Hwang Seong-ik, president of the Korea Mobile Game Association, said, “I sincerely welcome you to join the association of TikTok, which stands out on the global social platform. In particular, I am well aware that TikTok is paying a lot of attention to the development of small and medium-sized game developers in Korea. In the future, I want to carry out activities with TikTok for small and medium-sized game developers who need help.”
Meanwhile, TikTok will hold the 3rd ‘TikTok for Business Summit’ on March 31 and share ways to connect with TikTok users and potential customers in Korea as well as global TikTok. At the summit, domestic brands including Devsisters and world-class artists such as Psy and Park Jae-beom will participate as speakers to deliver successful cases of TikTok marketing and practical insights.
