    Future Contents Foundation, ‘2022 Vocational High School Game Development Contest’

    The festival that all vocational high school students in Seoul have been waiting for is back!

    The ‘2022 Vocational High School IT Job UP Game Development Contest’ hosted by the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education (Superintendent Jo Hee-yeon) and organized by the Future Contents Foundation (Chairman Jeong Wook) starts online application from June 13th.

    The event, which marks its third anniversary this year, is an event created by the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education and the Future Contents Foundation for the purpose of improving vocational skills and preparing employment portfolios for vocational high school students who are interested in the field of game content.

    During the competition, students from 80 vocational high schools in Seoul (specialized high schools, Meister high schools, and industrial information schools) gather as a team to write a plan, perform graphics, audio, and coding, and experience the entire process of developing creative game contents. In addition, through online mentoring with senior developers who are matched 1:1 with each team, vivid knowledge honed in the field will be transmitted.

    Vocational high school students wishing to participate can form a team of up to 5 people and apply online. All application teams must take online lectures that are essential for game content development, such as how to write a plan, development theory, and copyright understanding. If a free-form plan is submitted by July 5th, the 10 teams that will advance to the finals will be announced on July 13th after going through a preliminary evaluation based on evaluation.

    Teams that advance to the finals will be given the privilege of a one-day special lecture that will help them understand the overall process of the competition as well as enhance their practical competency in planning and programming.

    After that, each team will start developing game contents in earnest and submit the final version with improved perfection through a mentoring process for about 6 weeks with senior game contents developers affiliated with the Korea Game Developers Association. It will be decided after on-site screening and demonstration by the Media Association reporters.

    The entire process of on-site screening and demonstration will be broadcast online in real time, and visitors to the event will be able to directly experience the game contents.

    Scholarships and certificates will be awarded to one team each of the grand prize, gold, silver, and bronze prizes and three incentive prizes in the order of receiving the highest evaluation among the teams advancing to the finals.

    Regarding this event, the Future Contents Foundation said, “This year is the first year in the face of the post-coronavirus and also the year in which the Game in Foundation declared evolution as the Future Contents Foundation. “We focused on strengthening the offline elements while maintaining the online elements of”.

    He added, “Thanks to the continuous interest and support of vocational high school students, this contest was able to continue up to three times, thanks to the hard work of the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education, which has been working together to give students a rich experience.”

    On the other hand, the Future Contents Foundation is a non-profit public interest corporation whose name was changed from the Game-in Foundation in April.
