Collaborating with the Gyeonggi Content Agency to develop esports talent
Since signing a business agreement with the Gyeonggi Content Agency in 2022, the Gwangmyeong Game Creation Center has been promoting various projects to promote game culture and foster future talent.
In particular, we are collaborating with the Gwangmyeong Office of Education to establish and operate a “Game Programming” course within the high school credit system. Second-year high school students in the district can learn how to develop their own games at the Game Creation Lab every Wednesday during regular class hours.
In addition, we regularly hold youth e-sports competitions and special lectures on game and e-sports career paths in cooperation with the Gyeonggi Game Culture Center, striving to create a healthy gaming culture and fostering professional talent in the gaming field.
Kim Gwang-yong, director of Haan Library in Gwangmyeong City, said, “This course will not only cultivate basic literacy in the digital age, but will also serve as an opportunity to grow into creative talent suited to the era of artificial intelligence and the Fourth Industrial Revolution.” He added, “I hope many citizens interested in digital education will participate.”
Citizens wishing to participate can apply on a first-come, first-served basis through the Gwangmyeong Library website (gmlib.gm.go.kr) starting at 10:00 AM on the 11th. For further information, please contact the Gwangmyeong Haan Library at 02-2680-6996.
