‘Palette,’ which started in 2020, is a community that supports children and teenagers from vulnerable groups who have relatively little experience in creativity and creative activities to express their creativity based on their interests. This year, it will be expanded to regions with relatively few opportunities for experience, such as Gangneung, Gangwon, and Jeonju, Jeonbuk.
The 4th Hope Creator class recruits young people with experience and competence in IT, art, and education. Anyone who wants to contribute to solving social problems as a young person with understanding, passion, and a sense of mission for children and adolescents can apply.
The activity will be held once a week for six months from September to next February, and during this period, local children’s centers and multicultural alternative schools will be visited to support creative activities for children and teenagers. Participating mentors are provided with activity expenses and networking opportunities, along with a certificate of completion proving volunteer hours and completion of activities. Details on how to apply can be found on the Hope Studio website.
A participant in the last 3rd class said, “I discovered problem-solving skills and leadership through mentoring with children,” and “I was able to grow into a three-dimensional person through the process of emotionally interacting with children as a helper.”
“The Palette Mentor (Hope Creator) will be a great opportunity to experience creative leadership in the process of discovering the potential of children and teenagers and helping them in their creative activities,” said Kwon Yeon-joo, head of Hope Studio. We plan to develop into a platform where young people who want to do socially valuable work can grow.”
