    KOCCA to hold ‘Game Level Up Showcase 2022’ for startups and indie games on the 2nd of next month

    The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Minister Park Bo-gyun) and the Korea Creative Content Agency (Director Cho Hyun-rae, hereinafter referred to as Conjin-won) held the ‘Game Level-up Showcase 2022′ to showcase excellent startups and indie games from December 2nd to 4th. , GLS 2022)’ will be held at Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) Art Hall 2 and Conference Room.

    GLS 2022, which will be held for the first time this year, showcases games from 14 game startups supported through KOCCA’s ▲initial game developer growth support project and ▲20 indie game teams supported through an indie game planning and development contest and presents user experiences and presentations. It is an event to get feedback on the game. All 34 games are new games targeting a release this year or next.

    ◆ 34 new start-up and indie games released

    In this event, a total of 14 games, such as ▲Wonderpotion ▲Artifact ▲Alien Abduction Operation ▲NitroX ▲Alchemist Games, etc. Participate. In the indie category, 20 games, including ▲ Ward Games ▲ Team Eyeball ▲ Ixrix ▲ Team Detective, will participate.

    Game users can directly experience and evaluate participating games. ▲ A total of 99 people are recruited for the user evaluation group, and they can participate in the in-game experience and evaluation by the event date. In addition, a ▲free experience group is recruited in advance with a total of 450 people, giving them the opportunity to experience various games. In addition, KOCCA invites experts, game industry publishers, marketers, and investors to ▲present and evaluate each task.

    On the 4th, the event’s last day, the best game is selected by combining the user experience group evaluation and the expert’s presentation evaluation score, and the ▲Best Game Awards Ceremony is held. Startups are selected from 1st to 3rd place, and indie games are selected from 5th place. A total of 52 million won in prize money will be awarded to selected excellent games.

    ◆ Providing opportunities for game users, experts, and developers to communicate directly with new games and grow

    KOCCA selected and supported the development of a total of 34 games from early game developers and indie game companies through a contest last April. In addition, to help successful game commercialization, it has operated various commercialization programs such as consulting and networking.

    “The growth of early game developers and indie games is very important in securing diversity and broadening the base of the game industry,” said Lee Yang-hwan, director of Konjinwon Game Headquarters. We wanted to provide an opportunity for game developers to grow further.”

    Free experience group recruitment is until December 1st, and user evaluation group recruitment is until November 27th.
