A new developer benefit program has been unveiled that allows you to receive 100% of the profits for a certain period if you are the first to release a new game on the Epic Games Store.
Epic Games Korea (CEO Park Seong-cheol), the Korean subsidiary of Epic Games, announced the ‘Epic First Run’ program on the 24th, which provides 100% of game revenue for a certain period to developers who pre-release new games on the Epic Games Store.
Through the ‘Epic First Run’ program, Epic Games provides 100% of the game revenue generated during the first six months after release to developers who pre-release new PC games on the Epic Games Store, and after that period, the existing revenue distribution policy. The plan is to provide an 88% return.
Any developer registered for an Epic Games developer account can participate in the ‘Epic First Run’ program. New games can be released and sold on the Epic Games store first and simultaneously through the publisher store or website of the game. In addition, games can be sold at stores affiliated with the Epic Games store, such as Green Man Gaming and the Humble Store. However, games already started paid pre-sale on other PC stores cannot participate in this program.
From October 16th, developers can easily register and participate in the ‘Epic First Run program’ using the ‘Self Publishing Tool’ released in March. This allows developers to maximize revenue and showcase their games on the Epic Games store, which has over 230 million players and 68 million monthly active users (MAU). Additionally, you can continuously promote your game through related store events such as sales, events, new exclusive badges, and collections.
