- Singaporean indie developer Springloaded’s new title, developed for 5 years, surpasses 195,000 ‘Wishlist’ counts.
- From game development to marketing and studio management… A game that creates the best MMORPG
Singaporean indie developer Springloaded has announced the release date for its new game ‘Let’s Build a Dungeon,’ which combines game development simulation and RPG builder.
Springloaded announced at the PC Gaming Show Tokyo Direct that the game will be released simultaneously on PC Steam Early Access and Xbox Game Preview on February 11, 2027.
Currently, the Steam wishlist has exceeded 195,000 items, and the demo version is available to play for free on Steam and the Windows Store.
Become a Game Designer and CEO to Create the World’s Best MMORPG
‘Let’s Build a Dungeon’ is a game where you become a game designer and the CEO of a game studio and aim to create the world’s best MMORPG.
Players can not only design quests and adjust item drop rates themselves, but also hire or fire staff to assemble a development team. The finished game must acquire virtual players through marketing.
‘Let’s Build a Dungeon’ features a meta-structure that implements the development process as a game within a game. Players run their own game studio to develop a virtual MMORPG, and then progress to the ‘GameLink Early Access’ stage, which resembles an actual Early Access program.
Game Director James Barnard explained, “We are keeping our promise to show players what game development actually looks like by letting them experience the real game development process firsthand.”
4 game modes and thousands of hand-drawn assets
The Early Access version offers four game modes: Campaign, Just Build, Creative, and Dungeoneering.
Campaign mode is core content that combines studio management, RPG development, and playtesting. Just Build mode is a mode based on a deck-building system that allows you to create a world without pressure.
In Creative Mode, you can utilize various crafting tools such as the character creator, dialogue editor, inventory editor, portrait editor, and quest builder. In Dungeoneering Mode, you can explore content created by Springloaded, other developers, and the community.
It also supports Twitch integration features. This allows chat participants to appear as virtual players within the game or enables viewers to vote on key decisions made by the studio.
The game content is based on a library consisting of thousands of hand-drawn assets. The development team explained that they accumulated a significant amount of content over a development period of approximately five years.
Incorporating real game development experience and early access into the game
Springloaded explained that this trailer shows a virtual game being created in campaign mode, while also reflecting the development process of ‘Let’s Build a Dungeon’ itself.
“A significant portion of our experience as an indie studio is already incorporated into the game, and we enjoy blurring the boundaries between the game world and reality,” said James Barnard.
He continued, “Just as players must adapt to virtual user feedback to succeed in campaign mode, we also know that we must accept as much meaningful feedback as possible from the community during early access,” adding, “This has become a kind of meta- and symbiotic relationship.”
According to the Steam page, Early Access is scheduled to run for approximately 12 months. The official release will include more quests, milestones, new features, and expanded creative tools.
