The Gyeonggi Provincial Government announced that it will host “Gyeonggi Game Connect 2025” on October 30–31 at the Gyeonggi Center for Creative Economy & Innovation in Pangyo.
Following the success of last year’s inaugural event, this year marks the second edition of the program, designed as a follow-up to the region’s largest game exhibition, PlayX4. The 2025 event expands its business matchmaking programs and introduces global seminars to strengthen international competitiveness among participating developers.
Public Day — Recruitment, Seminars, and Hands-On Demos
The first day, open to the public, will feature programs for both industry professionals and general attendees interested in gaming. A career session will take place in the morning, offering job seekers the chance to meet recruitment teams from leading studios such as NEOWIZ, Pearl Abyss, SuperFast, and NHN.
In the afternoon, international speakers from ByteDance (TikTok Mini Games Division) and Neobards (developer of Silent Hill f) will deliver keynote talks. ByteDance’s session, titled “New Opportunities in China: Tripling Retention through TikTok Mini Games,” and Neobards’ presentation on the development of ‘Silent Hill f ‘are expected to draw considerable attention.
Additionally, the event will feature FGT (Focus Group Testing) sessions for indie titles supported by the Gyeonggi Game Public-Private-Academic Partnership Program. Pre-registered attendees will be able to play and review 15 indie games before their official release.
Business Day — Investment, IR, and Networking
The second day will focus on business development, investment opportunities, and networking. Participating studios will present their investment IR pitches before entering one-on-one matchmaking sessions with investors and publishers. A networking party will follow, allowing developers, buyers, and industry stakeholders to connect.
Meanwhile, the first floor will host an Indie Game Seminar, featuring talks from leading indie creators, including Yoo Seung-hyun (CEO of Wonder Potion, SANABI), Shim Eun-seop (CEO of Lizard Smoothie, Shape of Dreams), and Hwang Sung-jin (CEO of Cassel Games, Ratopia), who will share behind-the-scenes stories and practical insights from their development journeys.
Interactive Programs and Future Outlook
Throughout the event, visitors can also enjoy interactive experiences such as an AI photo booth, keyring workshop, and merchandise zone.
Bae Young-sang, Director of the Gyeonggi Digital Innovation Division, stated,
“Small and indie studios often face challenges in development, distribution, marketing, and hiring due to limited resources. Through Gyeonggi Game Connect, we aim to provide them with practical support—via seminars, consultations, and investment opportunities—that can help them compete with larger companies and reach the global market.”
