The Korea Mobile Game Association announced that ‘2021 Korea-Finland Special Game Week’ will be held online from October 20 to 24.
Hosted and sponsored by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Finland, this event will be held in collaboration with the Korea Mobile Game Association, Chungkang Cultural Industry University Game Contents School, IGDA Finland, a Finnish game developer group, and the Finnish Indie Game Cooperation Network (LGIN).
In this event, 15 works of indie games from Korea and Finland will be invited and displayed on the Metaverse platform exhibition space.
Any gamer in Korea or Finland can access the exhibition hall through a web browser and play indie games for free, and can also visit famous places in Korea and Finland implemented like 8-bit games.
All 13 Korean indie games invited to this event were selected as games that have won numerous awards in indie game contests or are receiving high attention in the indie game industry.
Jun-ho Cheon, Ambassador to Finland, said, “This event will be an opportunity for Finnish gamers and experts to showcase the excellence of our indie game developer with creative and high technology. I hope I can,” he said.
Hwang Seong-ik, president of the Korea Mobile Game Association, said, “I think this Korea-Finland Special Game Week is a good opportunity to use as a stepping stone for Korean indie games to advance into the global market. ” he said.
