A highly anticipated high-speed FPS rogue-lite game with weapon customization that evolves from room to room.
Galactic Vault, the debut game from Belgian indie developer MeepMeep Games, was officially released on Steam PC on March 10th. The game garnered attention even before its release, with the demo revealed at Steam Next Fest in February 2026 receiving a 97% positive review , earning it a “Very Positive” rating.
Escape is the goal… VOLT agents raid a corporate vault.
In the world of Galactic Vault, mega-corporations store cutting-edge technology in secure vaults scattered across the galaxy. As a former VOLT agent, you’re tasked with once again venturing into danger, raiding these vaults and “liberating” the corporations’ monopolized technology.
Each vault has a different level of security, presenting increasingly difficult challenges. Each room features a diverse array of enemies, and at the end of each vault, powerful AI bosses with unique patterns and strategies await. You must also be wary of potential threats, such as the Server Format, which can reset the entire level, so you’ll never let your guard down as you progress through each room.
Death is not the end. The game’s overarching theme is that players continually evolve their abilities by taking on new challenges, crafting more powerful weapons, and challenging higher-security vaults.
Weapons evolve as you clear rooms… The key is customization.
Galactic Vault’s core system is weapon customization. Each time you clear a room, you can select a new add-on to equip your gun. The key is to continually upgrade, change firing modes, and instantly create powerful synergies. As you progress through stages, your weapons evolve into completely different forms, sometimes resulting in combinations even the developers never anticipated.
Customization doesn’t stop at simple stat boosts. From changing the fire mode itself, which alters the firing mechanism, to the synergy system where different upgrades combine to create unexpected effects, to unlocking abilities through special software tools, the possibilities for combinations are virtually endless. Room layouts, upgrade options, and even the enemies and bosses that appear are constantly changing, ensuring no two playthroughs are ever the same.
The movement system is just as important as the combat. Running, jumping, sliding, and high-speed movement through alien vaults are all part of the strategy for overcoming enemies. Quick reflexes, strategic decision-making, and powerful firepower are all required.
Create custom challenges with the Bolt Editor
One of the notable features of the full version is the Vault Editor. This feature allows gamers to design their own vaults, freely combining difficulty options, room layout, enemy placement, and more to create custom challenges.
The intention is to open up an ecosystem where the community can create and share new challenges, rather than just relying on content provided by the development team.
The first title from a Belgian indie team founded in 2025.
MeepMeep Games is a small indie team formed in Belgium in 2025. The team was formed with the goal of creating an original game that adds new ideas to the rogue-lite genre, and the recently released Galactic Vault is the first result of this.
The Belgian gaming community has also been positive about this debut title. Gaming media outlet AllKeyShop praised it as “an explosively fun FPS from start to finish,” praising it as a successful example of the Belgian indie game development scene.
Media and Community: “An Endless Rogue-Lite Shooter”
The Steam Next Fest demo achieved a 97% positive review, earning a “Very Positive” rating. Gaming media outlet Yogomi praised the game, saying, “This rogue-lite shooter is a must-watch for gamers who enjoy fast-paced arena action.” PopGeeks analyzed it as “a game that combines the sensibility of a classic arena shooter with the replayability of a rogue-lite.”
The Steam community largely cites the depth of weapon customization and the freshness of each stage as positive factors. The presence of the Vault Editor also sparks anticipation for the potential for community-driven content expansion.
