    Gachon University’s game and video department has a competitive rate of 7.08 to 1 from time to time, and ranks first in the nation in the number of applicants among early employment contract departments

    Gachon University (President Gil-Yeo Lee), which carries out the early employment contract department leading university development project (supporting institution, Korea Industrial Technology Promotion Agency), disclosed the current status of application for recruitment for the 23rd year of this year.

    Gachon University’s Department of Game and Visual Arts, which was recruited at any time in 23 years, received 425 applicants with a high competition rate of 7.08 to 1.     Professor Kim Jeong-yoon, who is leading the Department of Game and Video at Gachon University, said, “The Korean game industry ranks fourth in the world with sales of 20 trillion won a year, accounting for 70% of the cultural contents industry exports, including Kpop and webtoons, and It is a global leading industry that accounts for 18% of the trade surplus, and students seem to have recognized its value.”

    He added, “The game sector has a high proportion of overseas sales, so it is a new growth engine industry where you can expect a profit from the exchange rate in the current high exchange rate. He expressed his anticipation for the new students.

    On the other hand, Gachon University’s Department of Game and Video has continued its steady efforts for branding through the operation of department special programs. Among them, the game seminar course, which is held for 150 game and video students every week, is a field-based, practical convergence course in which representatives of the domestic game industry meet students in person and deliver practical knowledge of the game industry to the students’ eye level.

    During the first semester, top experts in each field of the game industry, including CEO Miyoshi Heita of H2 Interactive in Japan, Byeong-yong So Soh, Director of DDB Korea, Ah-reum Yoon, Deputy Director of Kyunghyang Games, Seong-tae Kim of Gameshot, and Jae-cheong Lim, CEO of Indiegame.com worked in development, marketing, e-sports, etc. The knowledge accumulated in the field has been generously shared with the students, which has received a great response.
