An extraordinary encounter between cyberpunk and sushi… ‘CyberSea’ launches simultaneously on PC and mobile

    By Editorial Team2026년 06월 17일4 Mins Read
    • Developed by Australian indie studio Ezza Games, scheduled for simultaneous PC and mobile release
    • An extraordinary arcade action created by an unexpected combination of cyberpunk and sushi

CyberSushi, an arcade roguelite currently under development by Sydney-based indie studio Ezza Games, is scheduled to be released on PC (Steam, Epic Games Store) and mobile (iOS, Android) platforms in 2026.

Cyber Sushi is an arcade roguelite where cybernetic sushi heroes race through a collapsing dimension. It combines the speed of an arcade runner with the progression system of a roguelite, doubling the fun of score competition and the chaos that intensifies with each playthrough.

According to the developers, the depth of the progression was inspired by ‘Hades,’ while the endlessly escalating chaos and thrill were inspired by ‘Vampire Survivors.’ Erin Connors, founder of Ezza Games, described the development process, stating, “We were originally supposed to finish it a year ago, but it was so much fun that we just kept playingtesting.”

A futuristic pixel world traversing neon cities and subway tunnels

The game showcases unique visuals that combine colorful pixel art with a cyberpunk aesthetic. Dimensions with distinct atmospheres, such as ‘Lost Horizon’, ‘Neon City’, and ‘Subway Hackers’, are featured, with new worlds scheduled to be added in the future.

In particular, diverse backgrounds such as neon-lit cities and dark subway tunnels blend with the fast-paced gameplay to create a visually striking impression. Players must traverse high-speed lanes, avoid obstacles, collect tokens, and accumulate points.

The production team stated that maintaining high readability even amidst such spectacular visuals was the core objective of the development.

    Streak → WASABI → Sushi Hack… A rampaging 3-stage combo system

The core of Cyberse City lies in its progressively stronger chain growth structure. The game unfolds around a step-by-step system consisting of Streak, Surge, and Loop.

When a player successfully executes consecutive actions and builds up Streaks, WASABI Overdrive is activated, allowing them to use more powerful abilities. Afterwards, they can activate Sushi Surge to increase combat and score acquisition efficiency, and finally, Sushi Hack to unleash powerful effects that can shake up the flow of the game.

As the game progresses, the speed and difficulty increase, and players must survive amidst increasingly bizarre and unpredictable chaos.

In addition, various cybernetic sushi heroes with different abilities and playstyles appear, and roguelite-specific build components are added, designed to allow for the creation of new strategies every time.

Unreal Engine 5.4… A combination of the feel of an arcade and the addictiveness of a roguelite

“Cyber Sushi,” currently under development with Unreal Engine 5.4, combines fast-paced running action with a growth system that encourages replayability. The developers describe the game as “an addictive game that is easy to start but hard to put down.”

In fact, players aim for higher scores in a single run, test new ability combinations, and take on increasingly difficult challenges. It is also characterized by the combination of various genre elements, including action, runner, arcade roguelite, action roguelike, and score attack.

Meanwhile, the development team revealed that they are utilizing generative AI tools in the process of creating some in-game assets.

Sydney indie studio Ezza Games’ ambitious debut

Ezza Games is an independent game studio based in Sydney, Australia. The developers describe Cyberse as “a work that compresses the studio’s identity into a single impossible run.”

This game combines the thrilling speed of an arcade, the growth fun of a roguelite, and the addictiveness of a score attack, while also adding a dazzling cyberpunk vibe, clearly showcasing its own unique color.

Sushi and cyberpunk, wasabi and roguelite. Cyber Sushi, which blends elements that don’t seem to easily go together, is an ambitious challenge by the development team to prove a unique idea through actual fun. With its official release scheduled for 2026, attention is focused on what kind of addictive gameplay it will deliver.
