- The Hook: A 3D hardcore platformer where you must run while balancing a bomb—if the center of gravity shifts too far, it’s game over.
- The Feature: Includes a “Catch System” that allows you to dive and grab a dropped bomb before it detonates.
- The Squad: Developed by TRINUT STUDIO, a talented team of students from the Game Engineering department at Pai Chai University.
- Launch Platforms: Available now on Steam and STOVE Indie.
Forget simple endless runners; the student developers at TRINUT STUDIO are here to test your nerves and your sense of balance. Pass the Bomb: Runner takes the classic “hot potato” anxiety and turns it into a grueling 3D platforming challenge that demands physical precision and split-second reflexes.
The Art of the Explosive Balance
The core of the game is the Balance Action mechanic. Unlike typical runners where you just move left or right, here you must manage the bomb’s height and the angle of your character’s arms.
- Weight Dynamics: The bomb’s center of gravity directly affects your movement speed and stability. Leaning too far forward might make you faster, but one trip means a massive explosion.
- The Catch System: Dropping the bomb isn’t an immediate “Game Over.” If your reflexes are sharp enough, you can lunge and catch the falling explosive mid-air to keep the run alive.
- Hardcore Progression: The game is designed for those who enjoy the “trial and error” loop. One mistake usually leads back to the start, fueling that “just one more try” addiction.
From Peaceful Fields to the Dungeon of Doom
The journey is split into five distinct stages, each crafted to challenge your balancing skills in different ways:
- Field: A wide-open space to learn the basics of weight distribution.
- Forest: Narrower paths and vertical obstacles.
- Cave: Low visibility and treacherous, uneven terrain.
- Snowy Mountain: Slippery physics that make balancing twice as hard.
- Dungeon: The final test, filled with traps and the tightest platforming in the game.

A K-Indie Success Story: TRINUT STUDIO
The most impressive part of Pass the Bomb: Runner is its origin. The project was led by Gyeong-chan Jeon (Programming & Lead), alongside Seo-woo Kim (Planning), Jin-seong Park (3D Modeling), and Cho-hyeon Ryu (UI Design)—all students at Pai Chai University’s Software Engineering department.
The team has shown incredible dedication by moving straight to a Version 2.0 update shortly after launch. Based on player feedback, they introduced a system where “Heart” items found in stages can grant a revival opportunity, slightly lowering the barrier for entry without sacrificing the hardcore soul of the game.
By launching on STOVE Indie alongside Steam, TRINUT STUDIO is tapping directly into the heart of the Korean indie community, proving that student projects can hold their own in a competitive commercial market.
