- Winning the top prize over 90 entries… Proving HTML5 competitiveness with multi-platform services
‘Merge Champions’, a new puzzle game by indie game developer Sublevel Games, won the Grand Prize at the ‘2026 Mini-Game Makers Challenge’.

This contest is a nationwide HTML5 mini-game competition hosted by the Korea Creative Content Agency, Gyeongsangbuk-do, and Gyeongsan City, and organized by Gyeongbuk Technopark. Despite being held for the first time this year, a total of about 90 creative and high-quality entries were submitted from across the country, resulting in fierce competition.
In particular, seven industry experts representing domestic and international mini-game and mini-app platforms, including ByteDance (TikTok), Toss (Viva Republica), Neptune, and Superjoy, participated as judges to enhance the professionalism and marketability of the evaluation.
‘Merge Champions’ was awarded the Grand Prize, highly praised for its completeness that effectively utilized intuitive gameplay and the accessibility unique to HTML5.
The game is an HTML5-based puzzle game that can be enjoyed directly within a browser or app without installation. It boasts excellent accessibility, allowing you to launch the game with a single click without any separate download process.
Currently, ‘Merge Champions’ is being actively serviced on various domestic and international platforms, including global web game platforms such as Playgama and GetJar, the mobile Google Play Store, and the app-in-app platform ‘App in Toss’.

Kim Hwan-hee, CEO of Sublevel Games, stated, “It is very meaningful to have our gameplay and potential recognized by experts representing the domestic and international mini-game industry,” adding, “Based on the strong accessibility and scalability of HTML5 games, we will continue to diversify our platforms and services to deliver high-quality entertainment to users not only in Korea but also globally.”
