KOCCA, raises the status of K-game in Germany through the Korea Pavilion

    By Editorial Team2022년 08월 31일Updated:2022년 09월 01일4 Mins Read

    – Business consultation and contract with 15 domestic game companies and European publishers
    – Achieved 256 cases of biz matching and achieved about 90 million dollars in export consulting promotion
    – Active support for overseas expansion through on-site programs such as global networking with overseas buyers

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Minister Park Bo-gyun) and the Korea Creative Content Agency (Director Hyun-rae Cho, hereafter referred to as Konjin-Won) held a three-day B2B-Korea joint venture at ‘Gamescom 2022’, Europe’s largest game show held in Cologne, Germany from August 24 to 28. He said that the operation of the tube was successfully completed.

Gamescom, held for the 8th time this year, is one of the world’s top three game shows along with E3 in the US and Tokyo Game Show in Japan. As the game industry has undergone huge changes since the spread of COVID-19, the Korea Pavilion was prepared to strengthen the global position of domestic game companies and take a new leap forward. This event consisted of ▲ biz matching consultation, ▲ networking party, and ▲ meeting with exhibitors.

◆ Demonstrating global interest in K-Games.. 256 Biz Matches

    Companies participating in this year’s Gamescom Korea Pavilion are ▲WeaverActiv ▲Momo Studio ▲Action Square ▲Pepperstones ▲Flint ▲Softon Entertainment ▲Stoic Entertainment, Inc. ▲Nucore ▲Skywalk ▲Coding & Play ▲Ward Games Inc. ▲ There are 15 companies, including Birdletter ▲Road Stars, ▲Angel Games, and ▲Pixelity Games.

Conjinone secured buyers customized for each company in advance for smooth B2B biz matching, and as a result, about 256 biz matches were completed at this event. On average, more than 17 consultations were conducted for each company, and more than 800 people visited the Korean Joint Pavilion over three days. This is interpreted as directly confirming the global market’s popularity and interest in K-games accumulated over the years at Gamescom, the first offline event since the outbreak of COVID-19.

In particular, in the Korean Pavilion, ▲ Koch Media, a leading global publishing company, ▲ Gameforge, Europe’s largest online and mobile publisher, ▲ GAMIGO, Germany’s leading online game publisher, ▲ USA’s largest publisher E.I. (EA), ▲Gamania, a Taiwanese online game and digital content publisher, and ▲Kepler-interactive, which is doing project-based funding, investment and publishing of game studios, visited K-game companies for global growth and profits Participated in counseling for creation.

In addition, in the ‘Gamescom 2022 Best 10 Indie Games’ announced by Softonic, a Spanish IT & tech media, 7 games from participating companies in the Korean Pavilion including Newcore’s was also selected.

◆ Various field support programs to help overseas expansion such as global networking

Conjinone provided in-depth analysis reports including global market trends and information on major buyers to participating companies in the Korea Joint Pavilion, and provided strategic consulting for overseas market entry. In the field, various business activities and programs were prepared to support overseas expansion.

On the 24th, the first day of the exhibition, a networking reception was held for buyers and site visitors who had been previously bid-matched. At the same time, various exchanges such as content demonstrations and consultations between companies, and IR introductions by companies took place naturally. On the 25th, a global networking time was prepared for domestic companies to actively advance overseas through a meeting with local exhibitors. The possibility of entering the global market of domestic games has been increased through an open communication platform where various opinions from domestic players are heard and feedback is provided.

Newcore CEO Manjae Lee, who participated in global networking, said, “It was a meaningful time to see the changed status of K-content, which has recently been prominent in broadcasting and music, in the game industry. – We will do our best to showcase the game,” he said.

Meanwhile, Conjin One plans to hold the Korea Pavilion in September and October to actively support domestic participating companies and the overseas expansion of K-game contents. The excellence of K-games will be announced at the ‘Tokyo Game Show (TGS2022)’ to be held in Japan in September and the ‘Thilland Game Show 2022’, a representative game show in Southeast Asia to be held in Bangkok, Thailand in October.
