Xsolla (Asia general manager Lee Joo-chan) announced that it will support a contest program for indie game developers along with the Busan Indie Connect Festival (BIC) during G-Star 2021.
This is a support program for discovering and promoting domestic and foreign indie games, and the indie games were selected through the final selection process among domestic and foreign indie games received through the G-Star website in October or wished to participate during the BIC Festival 2021 exhibition.
The finally selected indie games will have an opportunity to exhibit for free at ‘BIC Showcase 2021’ within G-Star 2021. Additionally, all exhibitors will receive a $1,000 credit to access the Xsolla partner network, allowing them to benefit from promoting their indie games through influencers.
Indie games selected for the ‘Xsolla eXcellence Award’ and ‘Xsolla neXt Generation Award’, respectively, will receive cash prizes of $7,000 and $3,000. In addition, the Xsolla Funding Club provides a fast track to attract investment and curating investment companies. In particular, Xsolla eXcellence Award winners will receive an additional $2,000 in credit for access to the Xsolla Partner Network.
Ahead of the BIC Showcase 2021 Indie Game Contest, Xsolla Asia Director Joo-chan Lee said, “Xsolla hopes that the entire game industry can grow together by discovering indie games at home and abroad.”
Meanwhile, Xsolla plans to set up an exhibition booth in the B2B hall during G-Star 2021 and seek opportunities to collaborate with various game companies. In particular, Lee Joo-chan, Xsolla Asia general manager, will participate in the G-Star 2021 conference with the theme of ‘Proposal of a new paradigm for mobile game sales’.
