The Busan Indie Connect Festival Organizing Committee (hereinafter referred to as the BIC Organizing Committee) announced on the 10th that it will start accepting applications for exhibitions in the Connect Pick and Technology Exhibition section of ‘Busan Indie Connect Festival 2022’ (hereinafter referred to as BIC Festival 2022).
The Connect Pick and Technology Exhibition, which were first unveiled at the business briefing held in March, are new sections added to this year’s BIC Festival. The Connect Pick section targets games that have been ‘released more than a year’ or ‘existing BIC exhibition experience’, which were previously impossible to display through the general and rookie categories.
As the Connect Pick is a section designed to display works that the public and gamers want to meet once again, the BIC Festival 2022 crew, Big Connectors, will be selected by voting.
The technology exhibition section is for ‘works developed through a self-made game engine’ and ‘works with game-related technology applied’, and it is expected that you will be able to see various works as well as current and next-generation game technologies do.
The Connect Pick and Technology Exhibition section of ‘BIC Festival 2022’ can be submitted on the BIC official website until July 1. Any individual or group who recognizes themselves as an indie game developer can apply through the ‘BIC Festival’ official website. Indie game developers who are finally selected through this application will be given the opportunity to participate in BIC Festival 2022.
‘BIC Festival 2022’ will be held from September 1 to 4 at the Busan Port International Convention Center. Unlike previous years, when only a limited number of people were allowed to enter due to the corona virus, this year will be operated in a form where all visitors can enjoy the game. The online exhibition will be held from September 1st to September 30th this year, as in previous years.
Tae-Gon Seo, chairman of the Busan Indie Connect Festival organizing committee, said, “The BIC Festival, which never stops worrying and challenging for the development of the indie game industry at home and abroad, is preparing for a new challenge this year as well. It will be an opportunity for the BIC Festival to take a leap forward as an event where you can meet not only the future but also game development technologies in one place.”
