    The “Vampire-like” phenomenon that shook the gaming world in 2021 is back—but not as you know it. poncle has officially released Vampire Crawlers: The Turbo Wildcard from Vampire Survivors, the first official spinoff of the 7.8-million-copy-selling original. By trading open fields for claustrophobic 1st-person dungeons, Poncle aims to prove that their addictive DNA can thrive in any genre.

    Introducing Turboturn™: Turn-Based Combat at Breakneck Speed

    The biggest concern for fans was how the frantic pace of Vampire Survivors would translate to a turn-based RPG. Poncle’s solution is the Turboturn™ system.

    • Combo-Centric Strategy: Players use cards to attack, with the cost of each card affecting the turn order. By playing low-mana cards in sequence, you can trigger massive combo multipliers.
    • Wildcard Stacking: The goal is to stack “Wildcards” to chain 10, 20, or even 30+ consecutive hits, obliterating screen-filling hordes in a single “turn.”
    • Calculated Chaos: While you can take your time to strategize, the game is designed to be played fast, rewarding players who can navigate the UI with the same “flow state” intensity as the original action game.

    The Soul of a Spinoff: Scaling and Evolution

    Despite the change in perspective, the core pillars of the franchise remain untouched.

    • Infinite Progression: You’ll still collect gems, break crates for power-ups, and level up to evolve your weapons into game-breaking synergies.
    • The Blobber Experience: Navigating the multi-floor dungeons requires finding items like shovels to proceed to deeper levels, adding a layer of spatial exploration and puzzle-solving not seen in the original.
    • Cast of Crawlers: Different playable characters (Crawlers) come with unique starting decks, ensuring that every run feels distinct and replayable.

    A Musical Masterpiece by Yoko Shimomura

    In a massive win for indie gaming, the game’s main theme, “Il Cuor non si Spaura,” was composed by the world-renowned Yoko Shimomura. Known for her iconic work on Kingdom Hearts, Super Mario RPG, and Street Fighter II, her participation has added a layer of prestige to the project that matches its BAFTA-winning lineage.
