Vengeance in a Frozen Kingdom: IGGYMOB Reveals 17th-Century Dark Fantasy Action ‘MOOSA: Dirty Fate’

    By Editorial Team2026년 03월 31일3 Mins Read
    • The World Premiere: Revealed at the Xbox Partner Preview 2026 on March 26.
    • The Setting: A grim, dark fantasy reimagining of 17th-century Joseon during a catastrophic famine.
    • The Combat: A stylish blend of traditional swordsmanship and tactical archery.
    • The Launch: Coming in 2027 to PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, with a Day One Xbox Game Pass release.

The “Little Ice Age” of the 17th century was a time of true horror in Korean history—a period of failed harvests, plague, and legends of desperation so deep that historical records speak of the unthinkable. Seoul-based developer IGGYMOB is taking this harrowing backdrop and infusing it with supernatural terror in their newly announced title, MOOSA: Dirty Fate.

A Joseon Turned to Hell: The Journey of Gunn

The word Moosa (무사) refers to one who chooses the path of the warrior. In this dark fantasy epic, players take on the role of Gunn, a vengeful swordsman who has lost everything.

The world of MOOSA is far from the vibrant palaces often seen in K-dramas. Instead, it is a land gripped by a supernatural frost where monsters wear human skins and traitors lurk in every shadow. As Gunn, you will hunt down these “Soul Squatters” and pursue the truth behind the legendary Imugi—the serpent that failed to become a dragon.

The Blade and the Bow: Dynamic Combat Mechanics

IGGYMOB is leaning heavily into Korean heritage to differentiate its combat system from other genre giants.

    • Tactical Archery: While many action games treat the bow as a secondary tool, MOOSA places it at the heart of the flow. Players must fluidly switch between precision archery to control the battlefield and high-octane swordplay for close-quarters finishers.
    • Diverse Battlefields: From the majestic but eerie mountain ranges of the peninsula to the plague-ridden slums of the capital, each region offers unique environmental puzzles and combat structures.
    • Folklore Bosses: Prepare to face massive monstrosities inspired by Korean myths, requiring both sharp reflexes and strategic use of Gunn’s dual-weapon mastery.

A Global Vision from the Heart of Seoul

IGGYMOB, founded in 2012, is no stranger to the global stage. Having previously developed Gungrave VR and Gungrave G.O.R.E in collaboration with industry giants like SEGA and Koch Media, the studio is now using its Unreal Engine expertise to showcase Korean culture to the world.

“We want to create content that is globally competitive while staying true to the talent and creative power of Korean developers,” the studio stated. By securing a Day One Game Pass launch and Xbox Play Anywhere support, IGGYMOB is ensuring that Gunn’s dark quest for vengeance is accessible to as many players as possible upon release.
