The Gyeonggi Content Agency (GCA) has officially announced its call for participants for the “2026 Gyeonggi Game Production Support Program.” This initiative is designed to bolster the competitiveness of local developers by providing not only financial aid but also technical infrastructure and access to world-class intellectual properties (IP).
Three Strategic Tracks for Growth
The program is divided into three specialized categories to meet the diverse needs of the modern gaming market:
1. IP Convergence: Bridging Stories and Play
Four companies will receive up to 110 million KRW to develop games using high-profile IPs. Participating studios can choose from a roster of popular Webtoons and characters, including:
- Naver Webtoon: Vigilante, Night Run, Pig Pen, The Ember Knight.
- Iconix: Pororo the Little Penguin, Tayo the Little Bus, Zanmang Loopy.
- CJ ENM: Street Woman Fighter series.
2. AI Convergence: Powered by NCsoft’s VARCO
Focused on the future of development, this track provides 50 million KRW each to four companies. Developers will utilize NCsoft’s “VARCO” AI solutions to create game assets (3D or sound) and are required to produce a manual detailing their AI-integrated development process.
3. Hybrid Casual: Global Reach with Supercent
Targeting the rapidly growing mobile market, this track selects 10 companies to receive up to 25 million KRW. In partnership with global publisher Supercent, this track has a low entry barrier with no required self-burden fee. Top performers will receive intensive testing support and potential publishing deals.
