Korean indie developer LOTS has announced that its upcoming youth mystery title, Room 502: School Mystery Game, will step onto the international stage for the first time at Taipei Game Show 2026. From January 29 to February 1, the game will be playable at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center (TaiNEX 1), allowing overseas fans to experience its unique blend of daily life and suspense.
A Labyrinth in the Dormitory
Room 502 is a narrative-heavy mystery adventure that turns the mundane halls of a high school dormitory into a site of sequential, bizarre incidents. Players take on the role of Hae-eun, a cynical student who must navigate social relationships while hunting for clues.
The game’s charm lies in its delicate portrayal of teenage emotions. By integrating realistic themes like entrance exam stress, friendship, and adolescent anxieties, Room 502 creates a grounded atmosphere where the smallest “shift” in daily routine becomes a vital lead. Alongside roommates Heo Da-hee and Gu Se-rin, players must piece together hypotheses to uncover the truth behind the campus mysteries.
Strategic Entry into the Asian Market
LOTS is utilizing TGS 2026 as a crucial testing ground for the Greater China market, which includes Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Mainland China. By gathering real-time feedback from a diverse player base, the developers aim to refine the gameplay experience before its global launch.
The exhibition is made possible through the Busan Indie Connect Festival (BIC) overseas support program, which helps domestic indie developers tackle global marketing and exhibition costs.
