○ Applications Open Until April 14 for the “2025 Gyeonggi Game Audition (20th Edition)”
○ Top 10 Teams Selected, Total Prize of KRW 200 Million, and Exhibition Booths Provided
Gyeonggi Province and Gyeonggi Content Agency are accepting applications until April 14 for the “2025 Gyeonggi Game Audition (20th Edition),” an event designed to nurture promising game content.
Since its inception in 2015, the Gyeonggi Game Audition, now in its 20th iteration, has supported promising unreleased games by providing various benefits. The competition is open nationwide to any company, team, or individual capable of game planning and development, provided they submit an executable test build of an unreleased game.
Ten teams passing the initial screening will advance to the final audition at “PlayX4,” the largest game exhibition in the metropolitan area, held at KINTEX in Goyang. The competition will select one team for first place, two teams for second place, two teams for third place, and five teams as finalists.
The top 10 finalists will receive benefits, including a total prize pool of KRW 200 million (up to KRW 50 million per team), comprehensive support programs covering QA, sound, video production, translation, and marketing, exhibition booth space at PlayX4 to promote and demonstrate their games, bonus points for office residency at the Gyeonggi Global Game Center (Pangyo), and partnership opportunities with collaborating companies.
Last year’s event attracted about 230 teams, recording a competitive ratio of 23:1, with Eggtart Co., Ltd.’s “Metal Suits” taking first place. Past notable winners include Wonder Potion’s “SANABI,” winner of the 2022 Korea Game Awards, and Kiwi Walks’ “WitchSpring” series, surpassing 2 million paid downloads globally and generating over $5 million in revenue.
Bae Young-sang, Director of Digital Innovation in Gyeonggi Province, stated, “The Gyeonggi Game Audition has become a renowned gateway for game startups not only in Gyeonggi Province but nationwide. We encourage innovative and talented development teams to apply and will provide structured follow-up support for selected teams.”
