Busan Metropolitan City (Mayor Park Hyung-joon), the Busan IT Industry Promotion Agency (Director Kim Tae-yeol), and the Busan Indie Connect Festival Organizing Committee (Chairman Ju Sung-pil, hereafter BIC Committee) held the “BIC Festival 2025 (BIC 2025) Online Business Briefing” on March 13 through their official YouTube channel, Universe Indie.
The briefing introduced the slogan, event schedule, and updated rules for game submission and evaluation processes for BIC 2025. Various programs were highlighted, including the 4th edition of BIGEM, an indie game global marketing support program, the recruitment of the 5th group of BIC’s official crew “BIC Connectors,” and “Public Indie,” a non-competitive booth category for public institutions and corporations.
BIC Festival is Asia’s largest global indie game event, providing indie game developers with practical support and networking opportunities. This briefing presented essential details about BIC 2025’s key programs and support initiatives, serving as valuable information for interested indie game developers.
With sponsorship from 10 companies, the BIC Festival promises robust support this year. The early Platinum sponsors for BIC 2025 include Pearl Abyss, Smilegate Stove Indie, and Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA). Silver sponsors are Backnd, Lightning Games, and VerseWork. Bronze sponsors include Xbox and the Game Rating and Administration Committee (GRAC). MegaZone Cloud is the official party sponsor, and Google Play is a special partner, committed to supporting the indie game ecosystem. Sponsorship recruitment for BIC 2025 continues until June 27.
Ju Sung-pil, Chairman of the BIC Committee, said, “Through this online briefing, we hope more indie developers and gamers gain valuable insights. BIC Festival has established itself beyond an exhibition, becoming a platform connecting indie developers and gamers. We remain committed to continuously supporting indie games, ensuring their value shines within the larger gaming industry.”
The BIC Festival, now in its 11th year, will be held from August 15 to 17 at BEXCO Exhibition Center 1 in Busan. More detailed information can be found on the BIC official website and SNS channels.
