Swiss indie developer Amberbite Games and publisher Bright Gambit officially released the physics-based puzzle game ‘Shoe It All!’ on September 3, 2026.
The game was released on a total of eight platforms, including PC and macOS (Steam), Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4 and 5, Nintendo Switch, Google Play and Google Play for PC, and Apple iOS and macOS.
The price is $7.99 for the PC and console versions and $4.99 for the mobile version. Mobile users can experience the demo version on Android and iOS before making the official purchase.
‘Race’, a rebel who confronts the world with a swing and shoes
‘Shoe It All!’ is a physics-based puzzle game that tells the story of Lace, a teenager who refuses to conform to rules, order, and boring authority. Players take on the role of Lace and solve handcrafted puzzles using a swing and a pile of shoes.
The key is to control the swing’s movement and launch the shoe to hit the obstacles. Although it appears simple, each level requires a creative approach and precise control because the launch angle, speed, and timing must be considered simultaneously.
The game features over 65 handcrafted physics puzzles. It stands out for offering diverse ways to enjoy the game, as even a single problem has multiple solutions. Players can utilize creative trick shots and chain reactions, and the difficulty increases as they progress, testing their skills.
In addition, a speedrun mode, hidden bonus levels containing secret elements, and boss battles utilizing a cartoon-style worldview are provided. There is also collection content where you can complete a journal by collecting approximately 200 types of collectible stickers.
A cartoonish world of rebellion flowing with high-energy punk rock
‘Shoo It All!’ emphasized a light and playful atmosphere by combining colorful 3D graphics with comic book-style visuals, dark humor, and parody.
In the game, the player causes a commotion against grumpy neighbors, rule-obsessed adults, and greedy bosses. A key feature is that various surrounding elements are utilized as tools to solve puzzles and as devices to trigger unexpected events.
The soundtrack features high-energy punk rock at the forefront. In a sense, it expresses through music the rebellious nature of Race, who resists boring authority and the rules of adults.
The narrative of rebellion unfolded by the protagonist ‘Race’ is by no means lighthearted. The core of the story lies in the premise that Race, possessing the physical characteristic of being hermaphroditic, desires to be fully accepted by the world. Through this, the game incorporates the universal human yearning and message of wanting to be acknowledged for one’s very existence into its uniquely cheerful gameplay style.
From a calm, healing game to a punk rock farce
Amberbite Games is an indie game developer based in Zurich, Switzerland. They have showcased calm and gradual gameplay through titles such as the meditative underwater adventure game ‘Idle Aquaria’.
‘Shoo It All!’ is a game that takes a direction completely opposite to existing works. Instead of a calm atmosphere, it puts chaos, rebellion, and cheerful commotion at the forefront.
This title was released in collaboration with Stockholm-based publishing initiative Bright Gambit and is also Amberbite Games’ first official commercial release.
The development team built a community even before launch through a demo released last fall. Ahead of the official launch, they also secured an early player base interested in speedruns by hosting a community speedrun competition on Discord and offering the game for free to the winner.
Positive reviews since the demo stage and a buzzworthy simultaneous launch on 8 platforms
‘Shoo It All!’ showcased its gameplay first through a free Steam demo prior to its official release. The demo featured 17 levels, and 12 user reviews were registered prior to launch, recording a 100% positive rating.
The official version is also off to a good start, with all 13 initial reviews being positive. However, given the limited number of reviews, it is too early to judge the long-term reception based solely on current evaluations.
Overseas media outlets took notice of the unique physics puzzle utilizing a swing. In particular, the prevailing assessment was that the gameplay was differentiated by the fact that, unlike the standard slingshot method, using a swing requires simultaneously controlling the launch angle and the speed generated by the swing.
In addition, it is noteworthy that the debut work of an indie studio with no prior experience in official commercial release was launched simultaneously on eight platforms, including PC, console, and mobile.
‘Shoe It All!’ is a result that demonstrates the bold spectrum expansion of Amberbite Games, which has primarily produced static games until now. It transforms simple shoe-throwing action into clever physics puzzles and combines uninhibited punk rock sensibilities with the rebellious narrative of racing to create a unique aura.
With ‘Shoot It All!’, which has already built a solid fanbase during the early access and demo stages, making a bold move by launching simultaneously on a total of eight platforms, the industry is focusing its attention on what kind of fresh ripple effect it will create in the global indie game market.
