The PC Gaming Show is an annual online showcase hosted by PC Gamer, a global media outlet specializing in PC gaming, where major new titles and updates are announced every summer. The 2026 event was also held as a live online broadcast, coinciding with the summer gaming season centered in Los Angeles, USA.
This announcement drew attention with the unveiling of titles featuring distinct characteristics, ranging from cooperative space exploration and narrative-driven adventures to unique deck-building roguelikes and the return of classic FPS games.
Pioneer the universe together… ‘Starseeker’ Early Access imminent
Developed by System Era Softworks , ‘Starseeker: Astroneer Expeditions’ is a cooperative space exploration game based on the ‘Astroneer’ universe. Players will use the massive space station ‘ESS Starseeker’ as a base to explore unknown planets with their teammates.
The revealed gameplay showcased various systems, including combat, exploration, terraforming to alter the terrain, equipment crafting, and spacesuit customization. Each player’s actions are organically linked to common goals, such as securing resources, expanding the base, and extending the exploration range, emphasizing the fun of cooperative play.
It also supports solo play, allowing you to enjoy exploring at your own pace. A playtest is currently underway, and it is scheduled for an Early Access release on PC and console platforms on June 11.
Family, hometown, and a sledgehammer … ‘Virtue and a Sledgehammer’
‘Virtue and a Sledgehammer’, a new collaborative work by Deconstruct Team and Selkie Harbour, known for their lyrical narratives, draws attention with its unique setting that combines contrasting elements of emotion and violence.
The protagonist, having returned to his hometown in the Spanish countryside, faces a reality where his former family and neighbors are no longer ‘people’ but replicated in the form of machines. While they faithfully reproduce his memories, mannerisms, and even relationships, they reveal an unnatural quality that feels somewhat empty.
While some attempt to accept and maintain these beings, the protagonist perceives them not as ‘healing’ but as a ‘distorted extension.’ Ultimately, he picks up a sledgehammer and begins to destroy the cloned beings and the space they inhabit.
Acts of destruction are not merely acts of violence, but lead to choices regarding what to accept and what to deny between the past and the present, and between memory and reality. Through this process, the game raises questions about loss, family, tradition, and identity, allowing players to experience an emotionally uncomfortable yet intense narrative.

Dungeon Deck Builder Who Gets Stronger by Eating Mushrooms … ‘Shroom and Gloom’
Shroom and Gloom , developed by Team Lazerbeam, is a unique roguelike game that combines deck building and dungeon exploration.
The core of the game is the ‘Dual Deck System’. It involves operating a combat deck and an exploration deck simultaneously; in combat, you face enemies with various card combinations, while in exploration, you expand dungeons and strengthen cards.
In particular, the unique system of cooking and eating mushroom monsters after defeating them as enemies catches the eye. Whether grilled or seasoned, they restore health or provide additional effects, linking combat and survival into a single flow.
Thanks to a structure that allows cards to be freely modified and enhanced, even low-tier cards can be developed into powerful strategic assets. The existing demo received a 97% “Overwhelmingly Positive” rating on Steam, and it is scheduled for release this summer.
The return of a legend marking its 25th anniversary… ‘Serious Sam: Shatterverse’
The iconic classic FPS series ‘Serious Sam’ is returning in a new form. ‘Serious Sam: Shatterverse’ , currently under development by Behaviour Interactive, is a cooperative FPS that combines multiverse and roguelike elements.
Up to five players can form a team to battle on a constantly changing battlefield, and play by altering the game rules themselves through various buffs and ‘Run Modifiers’. The structure of becoming stronger by defeating enemies and accumulating abilities enhances the fun of replayability.
The plot is set in a world where the universe collapses due to the series’ iconic villain, the ‘Uber-Mental,’ and ‘Sams’ from different dimensions join forces to restore it. Applications for the playtest are currently underway, and the game is garnering anticipation as a title that adds new variations to the original’s exhilarating action.
Devolver Digital’s latest lineup spans a wide spectrum of genres, ranging from cooperative exploration and narrative-driven adventures to deck-building roguelikes and cooperative FPS games. In particular, the community has praised the company for once again clearly demonstrating its identity as an indie publisher by showcasing unique concepts and distinct characteristics for each title.
