Korea Creative Content Agency, Game Talent Institute 7th Class Recruitment of Approximately 120 Students

    By Editorial Team2024년 11월 13일Updated:2024년 11월 24일3 Mins Read

    – Recruitment of 7th Game Talent Institute students from December 13 to January 13, 2025
    – 120 students from 3 departments will be selected, and various support will be provided, including free tuition, scholarships, and corporate internships.
    – From the 14th to the 17th of this month, the student graduation project will be revealed at G-Star, and the 7th freshman recruitment consultation will be held.
    – A breeding ground for game industry professionals since 2019, with an average employment rate of 84% for graduates of the 1st to 3rd classes

The Game Talent Center, supported by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Minister Yoo In-chon) and operated by the Korea Creative Content Agency (Acting President Yoo Hyeon-seok, from now on referred to as KOCCA), is recruiting new students for its 7th batch from December 13 to January 13.

The Game Talent Institute is a professional human resource development institution that will lead the domestic game industry. Since its opening in 2019, it has produced 194 excellent game development talents in four groups until 2024. The curriculum is operated as a two-year long-term course and provides practical education in which developers working in the game industry directly participate, as well as practical training (artificial intelligence, console games, etc.) that reflects the latest technologies and industry trends.

◆ Recruit 120 students in planning, art, programming, etc. Full tuition-free, etc.

The 7th class of students to be recruited this time will be comprised of approximately 120 students, including ▲Game Planning Department (30 students) ▲Game Art Department (40 students) ▲Game Programming Department (50 students). Anyone interested in games can apply, and the final selection will be made at the end of February 2025 after the first document screening and the two-week preschool screening. This training course will begin in March 2025.

The Game Talent Institute’s curriculum consists of ▲1st year, standard in-depth education and mini team projects by department ▲2nd year, team project development process similar to actual game development. Furthermore, the final selected trainees will be provided with various benefits such as ▲100% free tuition ▲support for educational equipment and infrastructure ▲support for employment and startup programs ▲provision of domestic and international networking opportunities ▲support for excellent trainees to participate in domestic and international competitions and exhibitions ▲scholarship system for excellent trainees. Through this, trainees can grow into critical talents who will lead the future K-games.

◆ Training of field-specific talents through practical training.. Exhibition of graduation projects and recruitment consultation at G-Star

Game Talent Academy graduates are actively working in various game industries, such as large corporations, mid-sized companies, and small and medium-sized companies. The employment and entrepreneurship rate of graduates from the 1st to 3rd classes is 84%. The 2024 Game Talent Academy trainees have achieved achievements such as being selected for the Tokyo Game Show 2024, winning the Japanese Creator POCKY Award, and winning the BIC (Busan Indie Connect Festival) 2024 Excellence in Experimental and Public Pick.

Meanwhile, KOCCA will showcase eight games, the graduation projects of the 5th batch of Game Talent Academy students, at the international game exhibition ‘G-STAR 2024’, which will be held at BEXCO in Busan from the 14th to the 17th. In addition, detailed consultations on recruiting the 7th batch of new students will be held at the on-site booth. Detailed information on recruiting the 7th batch of Game Talent Academy students can be found on the KOCCA website (www.kocca.kr).
