Bandai Namco Entertainment and Bandai Namco Studio announced they would hold the ‘1st GYAAR Studio Indie Game Contest’ on November 21st (Tuesday).
GYAAR Studio is Bandai Namco Studio’s indie game label, established last year to support the best game creators who will lead Bandai Namco Studio’s major global titles. It aims to enable young talents to freely and directly express their creative ideas.
The ‘1st GYAAR Studio Indie Game Contest’ is a game contest hosted by GYAAR Studio for outside indie game creators. It is held to provide an opportunity to accept a wider range of creative talent and receive preliminary support for creative works. The purpose is to further activate the video game market through appropriate support for various games.
The contest will select up to one platinum award and seven other awards, including games under development, with total prize money of 100 million yen.
In addition to the prize money, the game developer, Bandai Namco Studio, plans to directly support the development and provide support programs, including access to ‘GYAAR Studio Base,’ a game development center in the Bandai Namco studio office, support for publishing and IP co-creation.
