Alibaba Cloud announced on the 27th that it has partnered with the Korea Digital Game Association to promote the digital transformation of small and medium-sized game companies in Korea and accelerate their entry into the global market.
Through this partnership, the two companies will provide free cloud-related education, training, and professional consulting to excellent domestic indie game companies. The game companies can easily access and participate in advanced cloud computing technologies and support their ecosystem from Alibaba Cloud.
Korean game companies are expected to receive smoother and more efficient help in advancing into overseas markets, especially Southeast Asian markets, through Alibaba Cloud’s technology and global infrastructure. In addition, the two companies will help game companies grow in overseas markets by supporting cooperation with local and global investors.
Unique Song, head of Alibaba Cloud’s Korea-Japan region, said, “Korean game companies are seeing increasing demand for cloud products and services ranging from strong global networks, stable computing, security capabilities, and real-time data analysis.” “This partnership Through this, we will actively help many independent Korean game companies with outstanding sense and creativity to gain recognition, grow rapidly, and achieve their potential to expand overseas.”
Hoon Choi, president of the Korea Indie Game Association, said, “Based on Alibaba Cloud’s rich experience and global capabilities, we will do our best to help domestic, indie game companies develop the necessary competencies to achieve success not only in Korea but also abroad.”
Alibaba Cloud, which has 85 availability zones in 28 regions worldwide, entered the Korean market in 2016 and built the first data center in Korea in March of this year. By adopting proven technology from the Alibaba ecosystem, it serves a wide range of domestic customers in various industries, including retail, finance, media and entertainment, and Internet companies. In addition, the company plans to continuously invest in domestic businesses by nurturing digital talent and expanding local recruitment.
Meanwhile, Alibaba Cloud announced last year a support program to solve the difficulties of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the game industry. The program includes regular meetings with Alibaba cloud technology experts and access to business expansion services in Asia.
