Nexon (CEO Lee Jeong-heon) announced on the 13th that it was recruiting participants for the ‘7th Nexon Youth Programming Challenge 2022 (hereinafter referred to as NYPC)’. In addition, the metaverse channel ‘NYPC PARK’ will be opened so that young people can get enough information about the competition and participate in the competition in an easy and fun way.
In this year’s NYPC, which reorganized the existing preliminaries into a ’round system’ of two rounds, anyone between the ages of 12 and 19 who are interested in programming can apply for participation on the NYPC official website by August 22nd.
Round 1, an absolute online evaluation, will be held for 5 days from August 18th to 22nd, and a total of 7 questions will be asked in a variety of novel ways using Nexon game IP. Participants can solve problems and submit answers using programming languages such as ‘Python’, ‘Java’, ‘C#’, ‘C++’, and ‘C’ on the NYPC official website.
This year, NYPC plans to operate the metaverse channel ‘NYPC PARK’ from July 20th to September 4th to provide sufficient information about the newly changed competition method to prospective participants and participants in advance and to participate in the competition easily and fun.
‘NYPC PARK’ is the online implementation of Nexon’s office building, where the offline finals will be held on October 29th, and youths can indirectly experience the finals on the Metaverse channel, participate in various events, solve quizzes, and learn information about the competition naturally.
In addition, Nexon will open the ‘NYPC 2022 at a glance’ tutorial content at ‘NYPC PARK’ on the 29th. In addition, ‘NYPC PARK’ can serve as a community where young people who like coding can gather and communicate freely.
Nexon Foundation Chairman Kim Jung-wook said, “This year’s NYPC, which has changed dramatically, will be a great experience for students interested in coding as opportunities for participants to participate in the competition will be expanded. We expect a lot of interest from the youth as we focused more.”
NYPC, co-hosted by Nexon and Nexon Foundation, and sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Korea Creative Content Agency, and Game Culture Foundation, was first launched in 2016 for the purpose of enhancing youth interest in coding and enhancing their competency, and is celebrating its 7th anniversary this year.
