KOCCA, leads the nationwide family communication through ‘Game Culture Family Camp’

    By Editorial Team2022년 06월 28일Updated:2022년 06월 29일4 Mins Read

    – KOCCA, successfully held the 2nd ‘Game Culture Family Camp’ in 2022 in Muju, Jeollabuk-do, with 240 participants
    – Contribute to establishing correct game awareness through various experiences such as e-sports and VR/AR taekwondo games
    – This year, camps are scheduled for August and November in Jeolla, Chungcheong, and Gyeonggi areas within the expansion of the host area, free application for participation

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Minister Park Bo-gyun), the Korea Creative Content Agency (Director Hyeon-rae Cho, hereafter referred to as Konjin-won), and the Game Culture Foundation (Chairman Kyung-il Kim) held a ‘game culture On the 27th, they announced that they had successfully completed ‘Family Camp’.

‘Game Culture Family Camp’, which started in 2015 and celebrated its 8th year this year, is a family communication program in which teenagers and parents participate together to establish a healthy game culture. The whole family can enjoy various game contents, and in particular, it is possible to form a bond between teenagers and their parents through games, so the participants are getting high satisfaction every year.

This year, in particular, the host region has been expanded to the whole country, and after camps in Pyeongchang, Gangwon, and Muju, Jeonbuk in the first half of last year, Naju in Jeollanam-do, Yesan in Chungnam, and Yongin in Gyeonggi-do are expected.

◆ Change the perception of the game by experiencing various contents fused with the game, all experiences in life are games!

This camp in Muju was well-received by the participants with its colorful programs. A program where you can experience Taekwondo like a game through virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) ▲Experience Hall YAP! and Taekwondo performances ▲’Wake up the sleeping giant in front of me!’

Programs in which various generations can participate together attracted attention. ▲Game quiz contest and family competition, which help to improve creativity and logic, ▲Family e-sports competition is a fun and explosive response through the fun of winning through fair competition between families and the harmony between parents and children for the achievement of a common goal. aroused

In particular, in the case of the family e-sports competition, former StarCraft pro gamer Ko In-gyu and game commentator Lee Seong-hoon took the lead and drew enthusiastic responses from the participants with their powerful commentary.

◆ Games, not a ‘wall’ between parents and children, but a ‘window’ for dialogue and communication

Special lectures by experts were also prepared to reduce the difference between parents’ and children’s perspective on games. Lee Jang-joo, director of the Irak Digital Culture Research Center, explained common misconceptions about games to elementary school students and their parents, and gave a special lecture based on his experience of directing game play to his children, gaining sympathy from the participating families. Through the lecture, it was an opportunity to confirm the fact that if parents are interested in games and play with their children, they can overcome the vague fear of using games and that games can become an important channel for communication with their children.

On the other hand, in the game culture experience zone, retro game consoles, Nintendo game consoles, board games, etc. are arranged to share games popular with the guardian generation and games currently enjoyed by children, and through this, a consensus is formed between the guardians and children’s generations and communication is established. gave me time to do it.

One parent who participated in the 2022 camp at the recommendation of a family member said, “As I was concentrating on the mission, I became one with my child who likes games. I think it will become a new communication channel,” he said.

◆ Conjin One expands the host area and holds camps 5 times a year, applying for families who want to communicate through games

Conjin One further expanded the venue this year, expanding opportunities for families from all over the country to participate. In the second half of the year, the 3rd and 5th game culture family camps are scheduled, and a total of 620 participants will be recruited. The 3rd Jeollabuk-do Camp will be held from August 26 (Fri) to 27 (Sat) at Jungheung Gold Spa in Naju, Jeollanam-do.

The 4th Chungcheong Region Camp will be held from October 21 (Fri) to 22 (Sat) at Resoms Plass Resort in Yesan, Chungcheongnam-do, and the 5th Gyeonggi Area will be held at Everland from November 11 (Fri) to 12 (Sat).
