    Korea Creative Content Agency, ‘Global Webtoon Games Project’ with Google and Naver Webtoon, support up to 600 million won per company

    Korea Creative Content Agency (hereinafter referred to as Conjinwon), Google Play, and Naver Webtoon have signed an MOU for the ‘GLOBAL WEBTOON GAMES’ project to support webtoon intellectual property (IP)-based game production and global expansion. announced on the 23rd.

    The signing ceremony, held at the Naver Webtoon office building in Pangyo, Gyeonggi-do, was attended by Naver Webtoon CEO Kim Jun-gu, Google Korea President Kim Kyung-hoon, Korea Creative Content Agency President Cho Hyun-rae, and executives and employees of each company.

    Through this business agreement, the three companies plan to discover promising small and medium-sized game developers in Korea who will foster and develop the Korean content industry.

    The specific contents of the agreement consist of ▲ payment and operation of game production support (Conjin One) ▲ support for webtoon IP use and domestic marketing (Naver Webtoon) ▲ support for release through Google Play (Google Play).

    First of all, Conjin One supports small and medium-sized developers to participate in the project together with 11 regional global game centers across the country. Responsible for company selection, development subsidy payment and management, and post-promotion support.

    Naver Webtoon supports small and medium-sized game companies’ Webtoon IP usage and domestic marketing. Noblesse (Son Je-ho/Lee Kwang-soo), Pig Cage (Kim Kan-bi/ Cheon Beom-shik), Lessa (POGO), Voice of the Heart (Cho Seok), Reaper Boy (Ryu), Spirit Fingers (Han Police), Lovely Dog Today (Lee Hye) ), appearance-oriented (Park Tae-jun), a total of 8 works.

    Finally, Google Play supports the market launch of games developed through business. Furthermore, the three organizations plan to discover and promote various contribution projects that can help small and medium-sized game companies in the region.

    “K-games are competitive in overseas markets to the extent that they account for 67% of total exports in the first half of 21st,” said Hyun-rae Cho, president of Conjin One. We will do our best to support local small and medium-sized game companies to become a successful cooperation model for overseas expansion.”

    Conjinone has been recruiting participating companies from March, selecting five companies and paying up to 600 million won per company by 2023. More details can be found on the official Conjinwon website later.
