Metaverse gaming platform The Sandbox announced on the 30th that it will hold a Game Jam with the theme of ‘Pororo’, the representative animation intellectual property (IP) of Iconix, a domestic partner.
Game Jam is a contest to create various metaverse game contents according to the theme through the free 3D production tools ‘VoxEdit’ and ‘Game Maker’ provided by The Sandbox.
To participate in the Pororo Game Jam, you can create experiential content that can be enjoyed by all ages based on the Pororo worldview and story and submit your work online from May 30th to June 12th.
The target audience is The Sandbox users not only in Korea but also around the world, and individuals as well as indie game teams and game studios are free to participate.
Works received will be judged, and a total prize of 250,000 sands (about 400 million won) will be differentially paid, and excellent works will be presented at Pororo Land in The Sandbox.
To commemorate the Pororo Game Jam, Pororo and his friends’ avatars and items are produced and sold for a limited time in the market on The Sandbox website. The NFT can be used to create game jam content.
In addition, a promotional video for Pororo made with the 3D Voxel character of The Sandbox was also released.
Lee Seung-hee, director of The Sandbox Korea’s Korean business, said, “I’m looking forward to seeing Pororo and his friends, loved all over the world, have fun exploring the world of The Sandbox Metaverse.” “Through this game jam, many people use Pororo IP. You will be able to experience creating your own metaverse content.”
