- Argentinian studio Chronos Interactive’s debut title officially launches on Steam on July 23
- Favored first as a Steam Next Fest demo before release… 4–6 hours of immersive story
- A first-person puzzle adventure where you unravel the secrets of a lost civilization with a single Valiares Sling
Kronos Interactive, an indie developer from Buenos Aires, Argentina, officially released its first title , ‘Echoes From Ciudadela,’ on Steam on July 23.
‘Echoes from Ciudadella’ is a first-person narrative puzzle adventure that depicts the journey of a son coming to terms with his father’s death. Using the diary left by his deceased father as a clue, the player explores the sealed mountain ‘Ciudadella’ and uncovers family secrets and traces of a lost civilization.
An exploration following a father’s last wish
The player takes on the role of a young explorer named Katari and heads to the long-sealed Mount Ciudadella after discovering her father’s diary.
The path leading to the mountain summit is filled with various puzzles inspired by historical inventions. Players must carefully observe the surroundings, conduct experiments to operate ancient machinery, and solve the mysteries surrounding their father’s last wish one by one.
A unique system for solving puzzles using the Valiares Sling
The core of the game is a puzzle utilizing the multi-functional tool ‘Balearic Sling’.
Players must solve puzzles in various ways, such as using a sling to accurately hit distant devices, destroy fragile seals, or use walls to ricochet bullets off targets. The puzzles are designed to require spatial awareness, timing, and creative thinking, and as the game progresses, players can upgrade their sling to interact with more complex mechanical devices.
As you progress through the puzzles, the father’s diary sequentially reveals new contents and explains the background of the lost civilization. Additionally, the system is designed to allow players to naturally progress to the next stage through a hint system and interactive guidance when they get stuck.
An atmosphere where Patagonia’s nature and sci-fi sensibility blend together
The game showcases diverse exploration environments, moving between Patagonia’s vast natural landscapes and mysterious sci-fi-style underground caves.
In Ciudadella, which has been dormant for hundreds of years, artifacts and advanced technology are preserved intact, and through massive caves that change shape as exploration progresses, you encounter traces of an ancient civilization.
The journey also adds to the fun of exploration by allowing you to encounter artifacts inspired by historical inventions, such as Archimedes’ drill, Leonardo da Vinci’s crossbow, and Galileo’s lunar observation device.
Great care was also taken with the sound design. Utilizing spatial acoustics and sophisticated Foley sound effects, the echoes within the cave and the movements of mechanical devices are realistically portrayed, while subtle mechanical and environmental sounds enhance the atmosphere and serve as clues for solving puzzles. Additionally, narration by professional voice actors is added to heighten the immersion of the story. The total playtime is approximately 4 to 6 hours.
The first work of a new Buenos Aires studio established in 2024

We have been continuing development with the goal of providing high-quality ‘immersive fun,’ and ‘Echoes from Ciudadella’ is the first title to be released after about two years of development.
Made a strong impression with the Next Fest demo… The official launch is just the first step.
‘Echoes from Ciudadella’ met users for the first time by releasing a playable demo at Steam Next Fest ahead of its official launch.
At the time, the demo allowed players to experience the early part of the game and Ciudadella’s first secret, and overseas gaming media showed interest, noting that it was a first-person narrative puzzle adventure exploring a lost civilization.
The developer communicates with puzzle game fans by operating a community centered on Discord. They also consistently release development news and game videos through YouTube and Instagram.
Interest is gathering on future Steam reviews and user reactions to see how Chronos Interactive, having taken its first step with this debut title, will be received.
