- Jjangdol Games, formerly of Krafton Jungle Game Lab, to Release Desktop Mystery Adventure for Free on Steam on July 31
- A mystery game where you find clues directly within websites, communities, chats, and files, just like exploring the real internet.
- A completely autonomous search method without a guide, the cult ‘Cult of Nine Octopuses’, and the full story of the missing persons case
The desktop mystery adventure ‘No Results Found’ , developed by the K-indie development team Zzangdol Games, will be released for free on Steam on July 31 at 4 p.m. (KST).
No Results Found is a game where the player becomes a private detective who joins the cult ‘Nine Octopuses’ and tracks down the whereabouts of a missing person solely through internet searches.
The core of the game revolves around uncovering clues and approaching the truth of a case by exploring websites, communities, chats, and files that replicate a real-world internet environment. Notably, the game provides no hints or guidance, characterized by a raw, highly free-form exploration style where players must search for information and piece together clues entirely on their own.
Find the Nine-Legged Octopus Cult and the Missing Friend
The game begins with receiving a case request from a client. The client’s friend has disappeared without a trace after joining a cult called the “Nine Octopus Legs Cult.”
This cult, which worships a nine-legged octopus god, forms a closed community where followers wear octopus masks and use their own rules and language. Starting with the cult’s official website, the player must track down the posts and records left by the followers one by one to uncover the truth behind the disappearances.
The immersion provided by ‘raw’ internet browsing instead of a refined UI
No Results Found focused on creating a realistic desktop environment rather than flashy graphics.
Websites, bulletin boards, and chat windows are designed to simulate using the real internet, and players must determine for themselves what constitutes important clues amidst a vast amount of information.
The game does not provide instructions or highlights such as “Click here.” Posts that look like ordinary jokes, recurring words, trivial objects in photos, and even the tone of voice left in chats can all serve as clues to the case.
This structure creates the tension of personally uncovering internet urban legends and the immersion characteristic of desktop thrillers.
A structure where search becomes deduction, and deduction leads back to search.
The player proceeds with the case by collecting and submitting the materials requested by the client.
The investigation continues in various ways, such as uncovering the identities of internal figures to complete the organizational chart, exchanging information via chat with an undercover client, and organizing character relationships and the whereabouts of missing persons on a cork board.
The game features a cyclical structure where information obtained through searches serves as material for deduction, and deduction leads back to new searches. It is entirely up to the player’s choices which keywords to search for, which information to trust, and which clues to pursue to the end.
The game features various endings and challenges, and offers a unique kind of fun with elements reminiscent of internet urban legends, such as “words you must never search for,” placed throughout.
No Results Found is a unique desktop mystery adventure that relies on the player’s observation and deductive skills instead of helpful hints.
With a structure where new clues are revealed as you search the internet, and a single small trace leads to an unexpected truth, there is growing interest in what kind of immersion and twists it will offer to users who enjoy deduction games and internet mysteries following its free release on July 31.
No Results Found is scheduled to be released for free on Steam on July 31, 2026.
