- A meeting of hand-drawn art and sophisticated action… ‘Solateria’ enters the global console stage
- Latest update applied reflecting PC version feedback… First-print bonuses and limited edition package also revealed
SOLATERIA, a 2D action Metroidvania game developed by indie game developer Studio Dudall and published by Shinsegae I&C, will be officially released on the Nintendo Switch this coming July.
Solaria is a game that depicts the adventure of a small fire warrior searching for the ‘First Fire’ in a world of spirits on the brink of extinction due to the Shadow Plague. It features stylish action combining intricate hand-drawn art with a parrying-based combat system, enhancing immersion in exploration and combat through unique ‘Pylon Actions’ triggered upon successful parrying and time-slowing effects.
This Nintendo Switch version will be released simultaneously in both digital download (DL) and physical package formats. Notably, it will be provided as the latest updated version that actively incorporates feedback from global users following the PC (Steam) release, featuring improvements to various elements such as relaxed parrying timing, combat balance adjustments, and enhanced exploration convenience.
Various special features for package buyers have also been revealed. The first production run package includes two types of lenticular cards featuring the game’s popular characters, ‘Chasa’ and ‘Verita’.
The accompanying limited edition package includes a variety of merchandise, such as an art map capturing the worldview of ‘Solateria’ and map marking stickers, as well as NFC-enabled OST keyrings, mini keycaps, and acrylic dioramas. With a composition that enhances collectible elements, it is expected to attract the attention of global fans.
A representative from Studio Dudall stated, “We are delighted to expand our reach to console platforms, thanks to the support from global users for the PC version,” adding, “We will deliver an attractive adventure experience to more users through controls optimized for the Nintendo Switch environment and significantly improved combat balance.”
Meanwhile, Studio Doodal is a domestic indie game development company started by six university students. Their first work, the 2D precision platform game ‘LAPIN,’ received a 94% ‘Very Positive’ rating on Steam, and their development capabilities were recognized by winning awards such as the GIGDC Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Award.
